Calling all game enthusiasts! We are seeking a skilled and passionate Mixed-Methods Senior Game Researcher to join our collaborative crew of adventurers! In this role, you'll be the secret ingredient that propels our new games from mere concepts to titles that are loved by many and remembered forever.

Your mission is to dive deep into the gaming universe to obtain actionable insights that'll fuel and support our new games. Think of it as a mix of analytical work, creative brainstorming, and a dash of magic to understand our players and the gaming galaxy like never before.

Picture yourself supporting decision-making in the development of new games, crafting clever research strategies, collaborating closely with our game teams as well as business owners and designers. Plus, you'll be an integral part of our tight-knit team, ensuring that new games hit the ground running with players worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Robust mix-method Research: You will be responsible for planning, designing, managing and conducting primary and secondary research using various research methods.
  • Agile Iteration throughout lifecycle: You will collaborate closely with the team to support the agile development of our game, driving everything from concept testing and prototype testing to subsequent product iterations.
  • Cross-craft Collaboration: you will communicate and collaborate closely with various crafts including but not limited to analytics, game design, and live-ops and monetization. Through cross-craft collaboration, you will drive and build a holistic understanding of our players.
  • Actionable Insights: You will synthesize market data, player feedback, and business needs to provide actionable insights that guide critical decisions. This includes understanding market and genre landscapes, analyzing key competitors, identifying and sizing target audiences, and informing strategic iterations for new games.
  • Player-centric Mindset: You will bridge business objectives and players' needs to inform decision-making at every stage of game development. Your responsibilities include gaining a deep understanding of players’ experiences, interests, and motivations to ensure that our games resonate well and exceed their expectations.


Requirements

  • Experience supporting game development through a full lifecycle, from concept and prototype to soft launch and global release
  • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, third-party market data platforms, and their application to solve business problems
  • Hands-on experience conducting research end-to-end in a business context with proven track record to support and influence business decision-making
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • A player-centric mindset with proactive attitudes


Good to have

  • Experience working in PC/console gaming
  • Understanding of biometric research methods
  • Understanding of cross-regional market and cultural differences in gaming
  • Understanding and curiosity of cultural and market trends in entertainment, including but not limited to gaming. Familiarity with research resources and vendors internationally.
