Job Description

As a Senior Backend Developer at Playrix, you'll optimize existing solutions and build new ones within their extensive internal ecosystem. This role involves architectural decisions, influencing both technical and product development. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing core back-office services (from design to deployment and CI/CD), building integrations with external partners, ensuring high code quality, and contributing to technical hiring. You'll work with in-house tools and market-leading solutions, collaborating with a team of developers, QA engineers, designers, and analysts.

Must have:

5+ years Python web development experience
Proficiency in synchronous and asynchronous frameworks (FastAPI, Django)
Strong code review and refactoring skills
Experience with large-scale systems and API integrations

Good to have:

ETL processes knowledge
Complex SQL query writing
Kubernetes experience
AWS experience

Team, about the role

Playrix is a global team of 3,500+ employees across 42 countries. To ensure smooth and efficient operations, we’ve built an internal ecosystem of 10+ services, including a multifunctional employee portal, digital accounting system, HR analytics platform, merchandise store, and even our own streaming service.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to optimize existing solutions and implement several new ones. This role offers the opportunity to work with both in-house developed tools and top market solutions. You’ll be actively involved in architectural decisions and have the ability to influence both the technical and product development of our internal systems.

Team: Tech Lead, 4 Backend and 2 Frontend Devs, 2 QA engineers, UI/UX Designer, Business Analyst, System Analyst.

Tasks

Develop and enhance core back-office services, from architectural design and infrastructure deployment to CI/CD processes and production release.
Build and maintain integration services to facilitate seamless interaction with external partners.
Ensure high code quality through rigorous unit and integration testing.
Contribute to technical hiring, participate in interviews, and help define engineering standards for the team.

Our stack

AWS, Python 3+, FastAPI, Django, aiohttp, SQS, Kinesis, S3, Lambda, OpenAPI, Swagger, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in web development with Python.
Proficiency in both synchronous and asynchronous frameworks (FastAPI, Django).
Strong code review and refactoring practices.
Experience maintaining and refactoring legacy systems.
Background in developing large-scale information systems.
Experience building fault-tolerant integrations with external APIs.

Preferred

Knowledge of ETL processes.

Experience writing complex SQL queries.

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.

Experience developing services with the AWS stack.
