Job Description

ByteDance's Global Payments team is seeking a self-driven Senior Software Engineer to drive payment product development. In this role, you will be responsible for participating in the development of payment solution product features, partnering with cross-functional teams, and driving technical initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience building modern payment systems, a strong understanding of social networks and creator monetization, and proficiency in programming languages such as Go, C/C++, Java, Python, etc. This is a high-impact and fast-paced role where you will have the opportunity to work closely with globalized engineering and product teams.

Must have:

BS degree in CS or related field
Experience building modern payment systems
Familiar with social networks & creator monetization
Proficient in programming languages (Go, C/C++, Java, Python)
Experience in distributed systems & backend API development
Good product sense, experience building large-scale consumer-facing products
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The Global Payments team is building a platform to provide cross-border payment solutions for all ByteDance's products and services, such as TikTok, Helo, Games, Education, etc. The Payment Solutions team in Global Payments focuses on solving the problems of collaboration efficiency and service satisfaction due to timezone differences, language, etc. Through an in-depth understanding of business characteristics and implementation processes, proactively and regularly dig out customer technical pain points and demands, create PIPO-specific and globally consistent products and solutions, reduce customer understanding and access costs, and improve user experience. We are looking for a self-driven senior software engineer to drive payment product development. You will have the opportunity to partner closely with globalized engineering and product teams in a high-impact and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: - Participate in the payment solution product feature development, to provide the best payment experience to billions of users - Partner with cross-function teams, e.g. PM, QA, BP, to drive product vision and engineering roadmap - Work with different stakeholders to decide project priorities, define product deliverables, and drive technical initiatives from execution to landing

Qualifications

- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors - Experience in building modern payment systems, familiar with social networks and creator monetization - Proficient in one or multiple programming languages, e.g. Go, C/C++, Java, Python, etc. - Experience in the distributed system, backend API development and related fields - Good product sense, experience in building large-scale consumer-facing product - Excellent communication and collaboration skills ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $280000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
