Job Summary:

Security Specialist A&E

Be a part of the team that plays a key role in protecting the people and assets of Adventures by Disney (ABD) and National Geographic Expeditions (NGE), Guests and worldwide operations as part of the Adventures and Expeditions (A&E) Global Security (GS) team. The A&E Global Security team delivers Disney enterprise assistance and support by providing security planning, trip monitoring, investigation, as well as incident preparedness and response through partnership with A&E and the Walt Disney Company’s Global Security teams. A Day in the Life of a Security Specialist…

  • Collaborate with business and Global Security partners to support the delivery and integration of systems, procedures, security standards, emergency response/crisis management, and metrics and ensure the business operates within agreed upon standards. Includes working closely with the A&E teams, functional partners, business partners and Global Security units.  to collaboratively work through unique and complex issues impacting the business.
  • Generate, maintain and distribute ABD and NGE trip reports, to facilitate and integrate the travel data into enterprise systems and provide for alerts and incident management.
  • This position works closely with regional and corporate Global Security teams including the Global Intelligence Threat Analysis (GITA), Global Security Communications Center (GSCC), Global Emergency Preparedness and Response (GEPR), and the Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to develop and deliver security support the business.
  • Assist in the review and updating of A&E Incident Management plans and procedures for both A&E operated and brand licensee lines of business, this includes communications plans, support for Incident Management Team activation and documentation of incidents.
  • Coordinate and deliver security/safety/health training and presentations for A&E personnel and functional partners.
  • Maintain A&E security/risk data and accurate destination information in technology systems for internal teams to reference.
  • Assist in coordinating and conducting security assessments in partnership with Trip Development/ Operations, A&E partners and government agencies.  
  • In collaboration with A&E Business Integration, update, distribute and file health protocols of the A&E operation, including creation, approval and communication of these protocols, impacting guests and cast/staff on trips. These protocols are for both own and operated trips as well as global partners.
  • In collaboration with A&E Business Integration, facilitate the day-to-day operation of trip risk management processes integrating Trip Ops and Global Partnerships with Risk Management.
  • Review new marketing materials, including websites and catalogs, to ensure appropriate travel advisory language is included. 
  • Respond to emergencies and trip disruptions which can occur outside of regular office hours and during weekends.

What you will need to succeed:

  • +3 years’ experience in risk/crisis management, project management, compliance, logistics, tour operations, or equivalent. Demonstrated interest in risk management, global issues and security efforts a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage heavy workloads, prioritize work appropriately, and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to manage internal and external resources and work collaboratively with cross-functional and diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to proactively identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail.
  • Passion for protecting people and proficiency in implementing processes, documentation and presentations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency, or ability to learn, QuickBase.

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
