Virtuos seeks a Senior Technical Artist specializing in procedural content generation. Responsibilities include developing and implementing procedural systems and tools in Houdini, Unreal Engine, or proprietary engines; creating and optimizing procedural content; and documenting complex systems. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic background, deep understanding of procedural techniques, and proficiency in Unreal Engine 4 or 5. Collaboration with art and engineering teams is crucial. The role requires a minimum of 4 years of game development experience and 2 years as a Technical Artist.

We invite an experienced Senior Technical Artist to join our team and conquer new heights with us!

Responsibilities

As a Technical Artist specializing in procedural content generation, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative procedural systems and tools to create diverse and dynamic content for various projects. You will collaborate with the art and engineering teams to ensure that the procedural content seamlessly integrates into the game world. The ideal candidate should possess a strong artistic background combined with a deep understanding of procedural techniques.

Your daily tasks will be: 

  • Working on tools for procedural content generation in Houdini, Unreal Engine, or clients` proprietary engines.
  • Creating the procedural content or procedurally optimizing the existing content. 
  • Writing documentation for complex procedural systems and tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the game development or other CG industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Technical Artist
  • Procedural Content Generation Experience with using and developing tools and plugins in industry-standard software, such as Houdini, Substance Designer, World Machine or Blender.
  • Proficient in using Unreal Engine 4 or 5 or any other industry-leading game engines with a deep understanding of its art and rendering pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of performance optimization techniques and best practices in game development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and programmers.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues in procedural content generation processes.
  • Analytical mindset to optimize and fine-tune procedural algorithms for performance and visual quality.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and able to iterate and improve procedural systems based on feedback
