The Site Utilities Engineer will provide technical support for Utilities & Facilities, ensuring EHS and quality compliance. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance, managing risks, and managing budgets. The role also involves ensuring all systems meet Haleon standards and statutory requirements. The engineer will conduct audits, train personnel, and ensure departmental compliance. The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The engineer must ensure the facilities meet the standards and guidelines within the budget agreed annually. Also, they are responsible for reporting any EHS issues to the manager.

Haleon is recruiting an Utilities Engineer

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support in an EHS and quality compliant manner for compliance aspects of Utilities & Facilities.

The role involves supporting the Utilities & Facilities Manager department to manage all aspects ensuring maximum system uptime is provided to operations in an EHS / Quality compliant and energy efficient fashion within the budget constraints agreed annually.

Responsibilities:

EHS Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties in a compliant manner and behave in accordance with Site SOP’s HALEON EHS Standards and guidelines and relevant legal requirements.
  • Read and understand Standard Operations procedures applicable to Role.
  • Report all accidents, incidents and any EHS issues using the appropriate process/ System to your manager, or if required the Occupational Health Advisor.
  • Maintain work area in an inspection ready state and clean as you go to maintain good safe housekeeping standards,
  • Be aware of the impact of your job activities on EHS issues.
  • Ensure all engineering changes made have safety considerations and best practise as core attributes.
  • Ensure Basis of safety files are available and up to date re processes.

Quality Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties in a compliant manner and behave in accordance with our Quality Management System requirements.
  • Participate fully in our site’s quality initiatives and ensure that all relevant quality standards are adhered to.
  • Maintain GMP standards where appropriate to your role.
  • Read and understand relevant Standard Operating Procedures and Global Quality applicable to role.
  • Management Policies relevant to your job role
  • Attend training and complete assessments as required.
  • Ensure Quality and GMP are at the forefront of changes proposed.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as required to ensure department compliance objectives are met to ensure no adverse to EHS and Quality targets.

Breadth/ Scope of Accountability:

  • Oversee Utilities & Facilities Maintenance (Planned, Scheduled, Unplanned) for OC and OTC sites to ensure they are being completed to the standard required.
  • Management of Facilities risks ensuring all EHS / Quality and business critical risks in appropriate fashion with HALEON guidelines.
  • Agreeing and management of Facilities budgets with all stakeholders ensuring targets are achieved through regular tracking.
  • Management of all non-GMP areas to always ensure audit ready / 5S standard.
  • Ensure all Facilities systems are managed in accordance with relevant Haleon Standards and that same are incorporated in planned work-order procedures.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are always meeting and documented and audit ready. ie Bund register, lift register, etc.
  • Ensure all department personnel are trained, and that training is conducted regularly in the department.
  • Ensure department operates to a GMP / EHS compliant manner through completion of Level 1 & 2 audits and any other ad-hoc requirements.

Required Skills Sets & Experience:

  • EHS/Engineering Degree in Relevant are
  • Needs to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Needs to be able to deliver effective communication.
