Job Description

As a Sound Designer, you will be a key member of the team working on the upcoming Survival title, the sequel to Alien: Isolation. You will collaborate with the team to deliver world-class audio, taking ownership of key areas of the audio experience, contributing new ideas and innovations to enhance the game. Expert technical skills within Wwise and Unreal are required for this role, including experience with designing and implementing content for audio systems, such as dialogue, music, animation, and physics.
Must have:
  • 2 or more full development cycles in a Sound Design role
  • Create compelling cinematic audio using recording, design & interactive techniques
  • Expertise in Wwise and Unreal
Good to have:
  • Experience on first-person horror and/or narrative adventure games
  • Technical skills such as scripting or light programming ability
  • Professional experience with linear cinematic audio

Job Details

Based at our well-established studio in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex, you will be working as a key member of the team on our upcoming Survival title, the sequel to Alien: Isolation. In this role, you will be able to make a real impact on our games, while bringing your knowledge and experience to help push the boundaries of the genre by collaborating with the wider development team - striving to make our titles better than ever before.

  • A good analytical and creative thinker with strong skills interpreting briefs or feature requirements

Key Responsibilities:

As a Sound Designer you will work collaboratively across the team, with all disciplines to deliver world-class audio for this title. 
Expert technical skills within Wwise and Unreal are required for this role, including experience with designing and implementing content for audio systems, for example; dialogue, music, animation, physics. 
Taking ownership over key areas of the audio experience, you will have a thorough understanding of the game vision and pillars and take the initiative to enhance the game through the audio experience – actively contributing new ideas and innovations. 
 
Knowledge, Skill and Experience  
 Essential
  • A degree level qualification in audio technology, sound design or related qualification
  • 2 or more full development cycles in a Sound Design role
  • Ability to create compelling cinematic audio using a range of recording, design and interactive techniques
  • Highly skilled at: 
    - Field and studio recording 
    - Sound design 
    - Music system and content design 
  • Wwise and Unreal expertise
Desirable
  • Experience working on first-person horror and/or narrative adventure games
  • Technical skills such as scripting or light programming ability
  • Professional experience with linear cinematic audio
