The Sr Site Reliability Engineer (Prisma Access) will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and scaling production infrastructure and services. The role involves collaborating with development teams, automating infrastructure provisioning, and participating in on-call rotations. The engineer will troubleshoot incidents, analyze root causes, and contribute to postmortem reviews. The team works on mission-critical platforms and tools to ensure high availability and reliability. The role involves problem-solving and innovation to improve platform stability, security, and features. This role requires a strong focus on customer needs and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Your Career

Prisma Access extends the protection of our next-generation security platform. It operationalizes the deployment by using a cloud-based security infrastructure operated by Palo Alto Networks. It uses cutting-edge public and private cloud technologies extending the next generation security protection to all cloud services, customers on-premise remote networks and mobile users.

We are seeking customer focused and development savvy Site Reliability Engineers to design, build, maintain and scale production infrastructure and services and within our Prisma Access SRE team. We want passionate engineers who bring new ideas in all facets of Site Reliability Engineering and customer operations. We are looking for passionate individuals who take ownership of their areas of focus and who are driven to solve problems at every level. Collaboration and partnership are at the foundation of our culture and we need engineers who can communicate at a high level and work as a team towards achieving a common goal.

Your Impact

  • Design and enhance software architecture to improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance

  • Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at massive scale

  • Work with development teams to make sure the applications fit within the infrastructure and scalability/reliability is designed and implemented from the grounds up

  • Work with QA on building pipelines and automation for delivering and deploying applications to production

  • Participate in the occasional on-call rotation supporting the infrastructure

  • Roll up the sleeves to solve incidents, formulate theories and test your hypothesis, and narrow down possibilities to find the root cause

  • You write postmortem reviews and remediation recommendation

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • Strong experience in both Software Engineering and customer operations

  • Hands on experience in building fault-tolerant and scalable systems

  • Strong development/automation skills

  • Experience in designing and implementing monitoring, alerting, logging and remediation systems

  • Experience working with micro services, deploying applications on kubernetes using helm preferred

  • Be comfortable with reading and writing Python code. Java/Go is a plus

  • Moderate Unix/Linux experience

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP or other cloud providers is a plus

  • Experience with Configuration Management and IaC: Jenkins, Git Lab preferred, CI/CD

  • Experience with databases

  • Experience with Observability tools and building dashboards

  • Preferred experience: Python, Go, Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab, Elastic search

  • Participate in  on-call rotation supporting the infrastructure

  • Roll up the sleeves to solve incidents, formulate theories and test your hypothesis, and narrow down possibilities to find the root cause

  • Organized, focused on building, improving, resolving and delivering - Good communicator in and across teams, taking the lead

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $126,000 - $187,000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
