Job Description & Summary

A career within External Audit services, will provide you with the opportunity to provide a range of Assurance services and business advice to a variety of clients from small, fast growing clients to large entities. Our clients are often well known brands and many have broad international reach. We focus on using the latest technology to reduce the level of manual testing ensuring you’ll focus on the most valuable areas of client service and on enhancing corporate governance and the reliability of our clients’ information.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above
  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients 
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand
  • Assisting with the scheduling of fieldwork and booking of staff
  • Assisting with the planning of stock counts and briefing of staff and notifying other managers
  • Facilitation of and attendance at planning meetings with client
  • Discussion of prior year issues and current year planning points with manager/partner
  • Discussion of audit approach
  • On the job training of staff & leadership of assignment team
  • Delivery of progress/status reports to team manager/engagement leader
  • Keeping abreast of industry/client developments

  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the team, other PwC staff and clients
  • Good spelling, editing, proof-reading, punctuation and grammar skills; effective listening skills; and
  • Strong IT skills are essential

Minimum years experience required

  • Applicants must have been trained at a major accounting firm and should be qualified accountants possessing a professional designation (ACA, ACCA, or CPA)
  • Candidates should have obtained between 1 to 3 years of post-qualification experience, which includes 1 to 2 years of experience as an Audit Senior in a professional services firm
