Sawhorse Productions is a full service creative marketing agency creating multiplatform content for some of the biggest brands, artists and film studios in the world, specializing in video production, post production, social content, immersive experiences, and software development. Sawhorse Productions is looking for a visionary Creative Director to lead and develop innovative, results-driven campaigns. The ideal candidate has a strong background in copywriting, experience managing big B2C clients, and a proven ability to deliver impactful work across diverse mediums, including but not limited to scripted commercial spots, docu-style narratives, and celebrity or influencer-driven campaigns. You will play a key role in guiding creative strategy, concepting, and execution while fostering collaboration among teams to produce compelling and recognizable work.

This role is client-facing, and you will work closely with our production teams to ensure seamless project execution. As a remote-first company, occasional in-office and on-set presence in Los Angeles may be required to connect with the team and clients.

Creative Leadership:

  • Lead creative concepting, strategy, and client presentations with a clear and innovative vision.
  • Drive creative strategy for campaigns and pitches, aligning with audience insights and brand goals.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Actively participate in RFP responses and business development initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying new opportunities and anticipating their creative needs.
  • Foster collaboration across teams, encouraging respect, creativity, and innovation.

Creative Development:

  • Craft creative concepts tailored to platform, audience, and brand objectives.
  • Develop and write high-quality scripts for commercials, social campaigns, and celebrity-driven content.
  • Lead the development of creative pitches and dynamic presentations, showcasing big ideas with clear visual storytelling.
  • Ideate with production and logistics in mind to ensure feasibility and execution excellence.
  • Keep up-to-date with marketing trends, youth culture, and emerging platforms to inspire fresh creative approaches.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with producers, editors, designers, and freelancers to align on creative goals and deliverables.
  • Guide and mentor team members, ensuring alignment with Sawhorse's high creative standards.
  • Support set builds, AV shoots, and post-production processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Creative Director or similar role in an agency setting.
  • 5+ years of experience working with B2C brands, managing large portfolios, and delivering big commercial campaigns.
  • Strong copywriting background with experience crafting scripts for commercials and docu-style narratives.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, editorial storytelling, and celebrity-driven projects.
  • Experience working on set builds, coordinating production teams, and overseeing post workflows.
  • Ability to translate audience insights, KPIs, and brand strategy into creative concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with creative tools, Google Slides, and presentation platforms.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing multiple projects.
  • Located in Los Angeles or able to commute for occasional in-person meetings and shoots.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Directing experience, particularly for video shoots or AV campaigns.
  • Experience with Web3, metaverse activations, AI, or AR technologies.
  • Background in designing and executing experiential marketing campaigns.

Additional Information:
This position is full-time, typically M-F, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM PST, and will begin with an initial 90-day probationary period occasional in-office and on-set presence in Los Angeles may be required to connect with the team and clients.
