Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical, strategic, and collaborative Demand Planning Manager to build and scale our demand planning function from the ground up. This is a newly created role offering a unique opportunity to shape how we forecast, plan, and align demand across the organization—laying the foundation for smarter, more responsive operations in a fast-paced, customer-centric business.

In this role, you will lead the development, refinement, and execution of demand forecasts that drive inventory optimization, sales accuracy, and supply chain efficiency. You’ll be a key partner to cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations, ensuring planning processes are tightly integrated with broader business goals.

You’ll own the implementation of scalable demand planning tools and processes, while also identifying opportunities to embed advanced analytics and AI into our forecasting approach. Additionally, you will play a critical role in our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, aligning supply and demand, mitigating forecast variances, and supporting strategic initiatives that enable scalable growth and operational agility.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in building systems and processes, values cross-functional partnership, and is passionate about using data to drive business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead demand planning in a low-system environment during the tool development phase, leveraging Excel and manual data integration to support near-term planning needs.
  • Drive the integration of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics into forecasting to enhance accuracy and agility in a dynamic market environment.
  • Own the end-to-end demand forecasting process, including volume planning for new product introductions, product transitions, and end-of-life management.
  • Lead cross-functional consensus demand planning cycles, synthesizing insights from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Supply Chain into a unified, actionable forecast.
  • Serve as a key leader in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, representing demand strategy and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Translate commercial strategies and market signals into demand plans that inform supply decisions and optimize inventory performance.
  • Collaborate with Finance to align monetized demand forecasts with annual plans and long-range business outlooks.
  • Partner with Sales and channel leaders to understand performance trends, challenge assumptions, and drive forecast accountability across the business.
  • Foster strategic partnerships across internal commercial teams and select external stakeholders to anticipate demand shifts and ensure forecast alignment.
  • Establish governance standards and forecasting best practices to reduce bias, minimize error, and improve forecast granularity across channels.
  • Establish and evolve the demand planning organization, including future team design, training, and hiring strategies as planning maturity increases.

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, or a related field; an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education will be considered.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ASCM CPIM, ASCM CSCP, IBF CPF) are a plus.

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, market analysis, or a related field, ideally within the consumer goods, technology, or security industries.
  • Proven expertise in cross-functional forecasting processes across sales, marketing, operations, finance, and manufacturing.
  • Strong grasp of supply chain principles, inventory management, and demand/supply reconciliation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with a proven ability to build dynamic forecasting models, consolidate data from manual sources, and develop scalable reports and dashboards to support demand planning in low-system environments.
  • Technologically agile; adept at adopting and integrating new tools to streamline demand planning and analytics workflows.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
