Content Operations 

Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Manager, Distribution Ops, Dubbing who will oversee the end-to-end management of dubbing production for Disney General Entertainment content across a diverse range of global languages. This position is integral to ensuring that Disney’s high standards of storytelling, quality, and cultural authenticity resonate with audiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage dubbing operations for Disney’s General Entertainment content across a broad portfolio of languages, ensuring adherence to Disney’s creative vision and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with global dubbing vendors and studios, negotiating Service Level Agreements and fostering partnerships that align with Disney's standards for excellence and efficiency.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent dubbing projects from pre-production to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and creative goals are met.
  • Partner with internal business team in each market to maintain the integrity of the original content while tailoring it for local audiences.
  • Implement and uphold rigorous quality control processes with vendors, including linguistic accuracy, technical fidelity, and cultural sensitivity in all dubbed versions.
  • Work closely with content production, marketing, and distribution teams to align dubbing strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline dubbing workflows, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and scalability.

General Responsibilities

  • Some of the key day-to-day tasks will include managing & developing team (individual contributors), leading important launches/projects, and identifying and resolving technical/operational/organizational problems.
  • The role should be capable of proposing an innovative solution to problems to senior executive team.
  • To be able to adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • To be able to provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and customers.
  • The role should have extensive experience partnering with stakeholders at all levels in an organization while prioritizing varying expectations.
  • The role will be managing a team of individual contributors.
  • The role will collaborate with Technology teams to define tool requirements/enhancements to help scale our workflows.
  • To be able to identify and manage risks, perform root cause analysis, recommend remediation plans, and oversee execution/implementation.
  • To be able to manage supplier performance by establishing and managing KPIs that have direct impact on the success of DO Servicing org.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in dubbing operations, localization, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale dubbing projects for global audiences, preferably in entertainment or media.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage external vendor relationships across multiple regions.
  • Strong decision-making skills under tight deadlines and complex project scopes.
  • In-depth understanding of dubbing workflows, audio post-production, and localization tools.
  • Familiarity with current dubbing technologies.
  • Deep appreciation for cultural nuances, ensuring authenticity in dubbed content across diverse regions and languages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The hiring range for this position in California is $113,600 to $138,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
