WildBrain seeks a Marketing Manager for its China operations. The role involves developing and executing marketing plans to support business growth, collaborating with internal teams (content distribution, consumer products, licensing), leading marketing campaigns, creating brand content, managing marketing materials, and organizing offline events (industry events, exhibitions, etc.). The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of branding/marketing experience in China, preferably in family/kids entertainment, and possess a deep understanding of the Chinese market and IP-based business ecosystem.

About the job/role

WildBrain builds and maintains mutually beneficial partnerships with various partners in the Chinese market on the basis of brands, properties and programs, in the form of content licensing, co-development and production, as well as licensing for consumer products, gaming and location-based entertainment.  To further grow our business, we are now looking for a Marketing Manager for the China market.

Job Description

  • Support line manager to develop/execute and optimize the marketing plan to support overall business growth in China.
  • Work closely with content distribution, consumer products and licensing teams internally to understand their needs for branding and marketing; coordinate closely with internal teams to execute marketing plans and activities
  • Work closely with team members to develop and execute marketing campaigns
  • Lead the development of brand marketing content, aligning with the established marketing cadence.
  • To manage and arrange the marketing materials (e.g. mascots, sculptures, etc.) through/with external partners
  • Organize and manage offline events including but not limited to industry events, exhibitions or summits, popup, mall events, etc.

Qualifications

  • Around 3-5 years of solid branding and/or marketing experience in China
  • Experience in the media and entertainment industry, in particular family/kids related sectors, is highly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding on branding and marketing around IPs for entertainment, consumer products and licensing business
  • Experienced in developing marketing content and possessing a keen sensitivity to market trends
  • Professional knowledge on the eco-system of IP-based business in China
  • Experience working for global corporations preferred
  • In-depth understanding on Chinese market, business and culture
  • Bachelor’s degree on marketing/communication; master’s degree highly preferred
  • Professional, responsible, proactive, passionate and creative; strong project leader and team player, with the highest standards of integrity
  • Fluent Mandarin and English
  • Able to travel
