As a Business Analyst, you'll be instrumental in delivering market-leading software to both new and existing clients, while also exploring groundbreaking technologies within the FinTech industry.

In this role, you'll utilize your expertise in financial statements, accounting, Basel, and other regulatory reports to ensure meticulous attention to detail and deliver specifications that align with both regulatory requirements and the operational needs of our external clients. Your role and responsibilities:

  • Define product features and functional requirements – interpreting local financial regulations
  • Articulating above mentioned regulations and necessary business processes into Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Write and review Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) that breakdown requirements into clear and cohesive business logic and designs (of cubes, dashboards, and other user interactions) which can serve as the business for software development.
  • Collaborate with the Application Development team to ensure the functional goals of our software are always captured and business user experience is considered.
  • Provide guidance on the creation of test scenarios to the Quality Assurance team to ensure that the full suite of functional as well as non-functional use cases are validated.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and industry trends to keep Nasdaq solutions at the forefront of the data management, risk management, and regulatory reporting industries.
  • Participate as SME support in sales and pre-sales, as well as providing SME input into marketing initiatives, driving the creation of publications, blogs, content for webinars, and more.

We expect you to have:

  • Several years of relevant experience working as a Business Analyst in financial services (Asset Managers, Banks, Hedge funds, Brokerage Firms, Clearing companies) or related vendor in a Regulatory/Compliance role/team.
  • Strong knowledge and practical first-hand experience of EBA and local regulatory reporting rules. E.g. EBA FINREP, UK Bank of England Statistical Reports, DE Bundesbank Statistical Reports.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting or similar.
  • A very good understanding of key banking products - bonds, loans, guarantees, collateral, repos, derivatives.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Good spoken and written English and German.
  • Knack of adhering to the best Business Analysis practices
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory publications and write detailed functional documentation that clearly and comprehensively breaks down business requirements into articulate data inputs, processes and expected outputs/functionalities.
  • Collaboration and communication aptitude necessary to share complex ideas succinctly and accurately both in written and verbal forms.
  • Self-motivated attitude that allows the candidate to map out their own optimal path to achieve the goals articulated above whilst handling deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team player approach that leverages the knowledge and skills of others and work with those in the wider team and company to ensure we are greater than the sum of our parts.

It would be great if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in one of the following majors desirable: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Science, Mathematics, or other aligned business and technology aligned subject matters.
  • Understanding of Software Development Methodologies (Agile, Waterfalls, etc).
  • Exposure to reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements from a regulator.
  • Solid Business Analysis background.
