Job Description

As a Product Manager II for Google Photos Creative Expression, you'll guide products from conception to launch, bridging technical and business needs. You'll break down complex problems, drive product development, and collaborate with engineering, marketing, UX, and legal teams. Responsibilities include understanding markets and user requirements, launching features, iterating quickly, and developing solutions across regions and functions. A key focus is shaping the video editing strategy for Google Photos, leveraging AI and ML technologies to enhance user content creation and expression. You'll work with a cross-functional team to build the roadmap for video editing features within Google Photos, ensuring a user-centric experience.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience in building consumer-facing products.
  • Experience driving elements of the product development lifecycle (e.g., product idea, go-to-market strategy, driving requirements, and product launch).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in product management, launching and scaling consumer-facing products.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, and other stakeholders on landing consumer-facing products.
  • Knowledge and passion in the video or editing spaces.
  • Ability to collaborate with global teams across varying time zones.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and investigative skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., writing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and strategy documents, building and delivering presentations, including to leadership).

The team's mission is to help people enhance and create content through tools that leverage AI and ML technology. In this role, you will innovate and differentiate with features which power the main focus areas of the team across image and video editing.

As the Product Manager, you will help shape the future of video editing in Google Photos, and work with a cross-functional team to build the strategy and roadmap for helping users edit and express themselves with videos.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

Responsibilities

  • Understand markets, competition, and user requirements.
  • Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, legal, UX, and other teams on technologies.
  • Develop solutions to problems by collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.
  • Help shape the strategy for video editing in Google Photos.
