Bally’s Media operates the Bally Sports Live and Stadium sports streaming services. Bally Sports Live is a free live streaming app that allows sports fans to engage with their favorite events in real-time while fostering interactive fan communities and earning rewards for activities. Stadium, a joint venture between Bally’s and Silver Chalice
(owned by Jerry Reinsdorf, who also owns the Chicago Bulls and White Sox), is a free advertising-supported streaming (FAST) sports network distributed through partners such as Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Fire TV and Prime Video, Tubi, YouTube TV, DirecTV and Fubo. Sports and events that Bally Sports Live and Stadium broadcast include Minor League Baseball, Savannah Bananas, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, GLORY Kickboxing, AVP Pro beach volleyball as well as betting shows.
We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Client Apps Engineer to lead our cross-platform client engineering team across iOS, Android, and Web. This role requires a hands-on technical depth who can architect, code, manage at scale. You will be building cutting-edge experiences for a media-rich, high-performance video streaming platform, while championing best practices in modern app development.
• Leading and mentoring a cross-functional engineering team working across Swift, Kotlin, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and modern front-end/mobile frameworks.
• Partnering with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless, performant client-side experiences for both video streaming and interactive gaming use cases.
• Driving architecture and implementation that focus on core web vitals, SEO optimization, and mobile responsiveness.
• Ensuring excellent application speed, accessibility, and cross-device performance across all platforms.
• Working closely with DevOps team and backend teams to integrate APIs and leverage AWS services and CI/CD practices for scalable client experiences.
• Fostering a strong engineering culture through code reviews, technical mentorship, and career development.
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 1+ years in a management or team leadership role.
• Deep technical expertise in:
- Mobile development: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)
- Web development: JavaScript, Next.js, HTML, CSS
• Experience optimizing performance and SEO for high-traffic websites with a solid understanding of Core Web Vitals.
• Knowledge of AWS services including API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, Lambda, and EKS.
• Experience working in modular, event-driven and API-driven architectures, particularly in media-heavy apps.
• Familiarity with video streaming architectures and common patterns for media playback, buffering, and delivery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and executive teams.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with ads integration (e.g., Google Ad Manager, MoPub, or programmatic solutions).
• Exposure to AI/LLM technologies and how they can enhance content discovery, personalization, or user interaction.
• Experience with accessibility standards and localization/multi-region support.
