Your mission

We are Vertigo Games, developers and publishers of big hit VR titles like Arizona Sunshine, The 7 th Guest and the highly anticipated Metro Awakening. Our Amsterdam studio is gearing up to start development for a big IP project and we are looking to recruit a Senior Rigging Artist who can aid us in our mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rig complex creatures, humanoid characters and a range of intricate items such as props, mechanical and vehicle rigs, including realistic and stylized designs for virtual reality games.
  • Utilize and create scripts and tools to streamline and optimize the rigging and animation workflow.
  • Expand upon the current rigging and animation tools with new features and modules.
  • Create hand poses and finger animations for natural and intuitive virtual reality interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with the character team, technical animators, animators and game designers to ensure seamless integration of rigs and coordinate efforts effectively.
  • Create and set up blend shapes for facial animation and lip-sync.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest rigging techniques, trends, and best practices in the gaming industry.

Your profile

  • Proven experience as a Rigging Artist in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex character rigs.
  • Extensive knowledge of rigging techniques, deformation systems, and character setup.
  • Experience in working with Maya, Motionbuilder and Unreal Engine.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) for tool and pipeline development.
  • Excellent communication, time management and collaboration abilities, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.

Bonus points for

  • Prior experience working on virtual reality projects.
  • Knowledge of Blender, Unreal blueprints, control rig and motion matching.
  • Experience with motion capture and real-time animation workflows.
  • Solid mentorship skills.
