EveryMatrix seeks a Sound Engineer for a 3-month contract. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of sound engineering for studio and remote field productions; utilizing advanced microphone techniques; maintaining understanding of analog and digital signal flows; performing EQ adjustments; troubleshooting audio issues; setting up digital audio consoles (Yamaha TF-Rack, Behringer, etc.); applying recording techniques; implementing Audio over IP (AoIP) protocols (DANTE and Waves); operating Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and Audacity; monitoring audio levels; calibrating recording/broadcasting systems; and utilizing remote applications. The role requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sound engineering or audio mixing and familiarity with broadcast audio levels and signal calibration.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years experience in sound engineering
  • Proficient in audio mixing & broadcast audio
  • Troubleshooting skills & attention to detail
  • Experience with AoIP systems & advanced tech
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Audacity

About the job:

We are seeking a talented Sound Engineer with extensive experience in audio mixing, sound support, and remote field production. In this role, you will ensure exceptional sound quality across both studio and broadcast environments, contributing to high-quality productions in a dynamic and innovative setting. 

We’re now expanding our team and looking for a skilled Sound Engineer to join us on a fixed-term contract (3 months) or freelance basis.

What you'll get to do:

  • Manage and operate all aspects of sound engineering for studio and remote field productions.
  • Utilize advanced microphone techniques and preamplifiers to capture high-quality audio.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of analog and digital signal flows to ensure seamless audio transmission.
  • Perform detailed EQ adjustments, with a focus on enhancing dialogue clarity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Set up and configure digital audio consoles, such as Yamaha TF-Rack, Behringer, and similar systems.
  • Apply strong knowledge of recording techniques to enhance overall sound quality.
  • Implement and manage Audio over IP (AoIP) protocols, including DANTE and Waves.
  • Operate and maintain proficiency in industry-standard audio software, including Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and Audacity.
  • Monitor and control audio levels to meet broadcast standards, ensuring safe and professional-quality mixes.
  • Calibrate recording and broadcasting systems using test signal generators and analyzers.
  • Utilize remote applications to manage sound equipment over IP networks.

What you need to shine:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of technical experience in sound engineering or audio mixing.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast audio levels and signal calibration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail with a refined ear for sound quality and balance.
  • Familiarity with Audio over IP systems and advanced sound technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote and on-site environments.
  • Availability to travel at least one week per month.
