Job Description Summary:

As a Senior Director of Experience Design, Design Strategy, you will work across various merchant segments to architect world-class experiences that transform businesses. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering partners to define and execute a next-generation roadmap that meets today’s needs while anticipating tomorrow’s challenges. You will guide your team and collaborate with other leaders and cross-functional team members to build and deliver the best possible experiences across all aspects of commerce, from discovery to post-purchase.

Job Description:

This role requires a visionary leader with a strong commitment to user-centered design and a passion for emerging technology and innovative thinking. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and possess a strategic perspective that goes beyond point solutions, keeping an eye on end-to-end experiences. You will work with your immediate team and peers, influencing key stakeholders.

You will lead initiatives to explore both new ideas and incremental improvements to continuously evolving products. Encouraging experimentation and out-of-the-box thinking will be crucial for solving complex design challenges. Staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies will help drive forward-thinking UX strategies.

A passion for problem-solving through design will ensure flawless execution. You’ll leverage a deep understanding of design patterns to build trust and security within our financial products. Leading a team that is enthusiastic about designing intuitive cross-platform experiences, you will utilize prototyping techniques, empathy, and research with a test-and-learn mindset. Additionally, you will play a key role in finding, developing, and retaining the next generation of talent.

You will report to the VP of Experience Design, Merchant, and be a member of our Experience Design leadership team, where we leverage our design and research skills to inspire and influence across the company. We believe that diverse perspectives and backgrounds within our team lead to innovation and inclusivity in our product design. We advocate for meaningful and engaging experiences for our diverse global customers, supporting each other, learning from challenges, and having fun along the way.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead global teams of designers, cultivate best practices in process and methodology and deliver against business and customer needs 

  • Lead strategic design projects from creation to execution and be responsible tying back to customer value delivery and outcomes

  • Partner with leadership, stakeholders, cross-functional teams to create AI-driven features and core AI capabilities

  • Create seamlessly designed merchant and partner products and services.

  • Communicate design strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Test and validate

  • Hold team accountable to leverage and extend the use of design system, style guides, patterns and assets in the creation of UX deliverables 

  • Contribute to the wider UX & UX manager community, mentoring others, leveraging your strengths to help others grow 


Requirements

  • 15+ years’ experience and 4-5 years managing managers 

  • Strong understanding of Business Drivers which impact TPV and Conversion

  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a passion for fostering a positive team environment.

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields. MBA or similar preferred 

  • Proven experience in leading, growing and inspiring highly talented and productive UX teams 

  • Complete UX skillset, to deliver excellence across products and platforms, mobile apps, financial services expertise an advantage 

  • Experience leading delivery, through feedback, design critique, presentation to program sponsors, planning and coordinating with partners where needed  

  • Familiarity and experience with standard design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Miro, Sketch, and Invision

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$144800 to $319000
