Senior Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Comfortable with all aspects of accounting operations, such as revenue recognition, bill payments, and amortization schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analyses, and the month-end close process.
• Manages general ledger accounts and ensures timely and accurate posting of transactions.
• Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
• Plays a key role in the development and implementation of new systems and internal controls that meet the Company’s evolving business model and culture.
• Works cross-functionally to serve as a resource for internal stakeholders. 
• Supports audits by preparing necessary documentation and working with external auditors.
• Assists in tax preparation and compliance, including sales tax and VAT filings.

Skills & qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting or a related field
• 3-5 years of total accounting experience, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• 1-2 years of public accounting experience
• CPA or actively pursuing certification is a plus.
• Hands-on approach, very detail oriented
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment where independence is the norm
• Strong multi-tasking skills, and the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work Environment:

• Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F. Due to the nature of this role, there may be an expectation to work late evenings and early mornings to meet client deliverables and requests.
• Travel Requirements: No travel is required for this role.
• Physical Requirements: This role involves standard office-based activities, including extended periods of sitting, standing, and working at a computer.
• Work Model: For applicants who reside in or around New York, there will be a requirement to go into our NYC office, 2 to 3 days per week. For others located in different areas around the US, this position will be remote.
