Riot Games seeks a Technical Producer to lead a team delivering crucial tools and systems for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and future titles. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day production, improving work systems, assessing team health, increasing development efficiency, gauging product roadmap feasibility, partnering with leadership to execute development strategy, contributing ideas across teams, mentoring team members, and ensuring sustainable team performance. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, minimum 4 years' experience as a Producer/Product/Development Manager, strong Agile/Lean experience, and Jira expertise. The role involves close collaboration with various teams and a focus on delivering high-quality player experiences.

Job Details

Technical Producers at Riot lead passionate technical teams to create products and experiences that achieve maximum developer and player value. They guide development, clear blockers, create processes, and push projects across the finish line while making sure that the teams are sustainable and have a great collaborative environment.

As a Technical Producer on the Hextech Gameplay team, supporting game development teams, you will lead a team to deliver crucial tools & systems used to develop League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and future titles we build within League Studio.  

You will be the custodian of strong delivery processes internal to the team and ensure that collaboration with external teams runs smoothly. You will oversee product backlogs, delivery, building work systems, maintaining execution, and providing initiative leadership with visibility on complex deliverables.  You will also ensure the team works at a sustainable pace and continuously improves. You will report to the Director of Operations in Sydney.

Responsibilities:

  • Run the day to day production, operation, and development processes for the team.
  • Improve work systems, team performance metrics, and goal setting.
  • Assess the team's health and composition to ensure that the team is set up for success.
  • Increase efficiency in how we do development through simplification and standardization.
  • Gauge feasibility of product roadmap and partner with product and engineering leaders to right-size product scope and timelines.
  • Partner with the Product Lead, Engineering Manager, and Technical Lead to help develop the technical product vision and execute the development strategy for the team.
  • Create and contribute ideas to areas beyond your immediate ownership across different teams and disciplines.
  • Mentor and upskill fellow team members in delivery management.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience with strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Producer, Product Manager, or Development Manager on medium to large teams.
  • Excellent team leadership and ability to execute technical product vision.
  • Experience applying Agile and Lean development processes such as Scrum, Kanban, or Extreme Programming.
  • Knowledgeable in Jira use, configuration, and limitations.
  • Understand product management and how to navigate around constraints while finding balanced solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with teams building engine capabilities or gameplay features.
  • Experience in game development or a good understanding of how artists, engineers, and game designers build assets and game features for a modern game.
  • Experience with distributed development or co-development
