Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams. Cloud Networking is the foundation of Google Cloud, connecting everything and enabling our services to function. Our team manages a diverse portfolio of technologies, from ingress/egress to Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and security. As a Technical Program Manager, you will own key processes in planning, execution, and reporting, driving the growth of our Cloud Networking business.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in infrastructure work.
7 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports.
5 years of experience managing projects.
Experience with software infrastructure.

Good to have:

10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
7 years of experience in supervisory

Minimum qualifications:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Become a leader within Google and industry on the subject matter domain of the respective organization.
Establish a reliable and visible cadence for portfolio reviews, decision making, prioritization, and resource management, whereby improvements are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide. (e.g., redeployment of machine and people resources leading to efficiency and utilization gains mapping to the concept of Resource Stewardship).
Drive measurable program performance gains correlated to execution velocity. Establish governance over prioritization decisions to ensure alignment with key performance indicators.
Advocate responsibility for initiating and leading multiple organizations through pivots needed to address shifts in business trends and priorities.
Lead a tactical planning framework for a complex program portfolio including direct influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.
