The Workday Analyst, HR Compliance & HCM at Universal Music Group is a hybrid role responsible for HR compliance, audit activities, and Workday HCM system support. Key responsibilities include creating custom Workday reports for compliance, acting as the primary contact for internal/external audits, managing Workday support tickets, and collaborating with the People, Inclusion & Culture team. The analyst will also manage contingent worker profiles, maintain compliance documentation, and proactively educate team members on ITGC/ITAC compliance. This role requires strong Workday expertise, audit experience, and excellent communication skills.

How You'll LEAD:

Universal Music Group is currently seeking a People, Inclusion & Culture Workday Analyst, HR Compliance and HCM. This hybrid role will be responsible for HR compliance and audit activities and Workday core HCM systems support. The Analyst will be responsible for the creation of custom reports in Workday to support internal compliance related reporting needs. Candidate will act as primary point of contact for monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external audit activities and resolve Workday business as usual support tickets assigned to them. Candidate must have the ability to collaborate closely with other areas of the People, Inclusion and Culture team and possess compliance and Workday operational knowledge. The position will report to Manager, HR Compliance and HCM.

How You'll CREATE:

  • Act as primary point of contact for external and internal auditors.  Provide requested documents for key controls to auditors. Ensure auditor requests are within scope and completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Create and maintain Workday custom reports to streamline processes and support employee life cycle events and audit activities.
  • Grow as a subject matter expert for back-end data and organization management processes within Workday. Utilize resources such as Workday Community or 3rd party contacts to find solutions to problems when needed.
  •  Manage technical escalations from the HR Operations team; partner with specialist groups, vendors, and other parties to resolve issues.
  •  Perform tasks in support of Contingent Worker profile management in Workday.
  • Draft and maintain documentation of policies related to compliance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with ITGC/ITAC requirements. Lead annual reviews of documented policies and controls with control owners.
  • Update policies and controls according to current process while ensuring compliance under ITGC/ITAC.  
  • Advise and inform requestors about prioritization of requests through clear communication.
  • Possess a strong work ethic; self-motivated with a desire to take initiative to create efficiencies and look for ways to improve audit processes and HR systems (e.g., Workday).
  • Ensure HR systems (e.g., Workday, integrations, Jira) and approval processes are sufficient according to internal policies and ITGC/ITAC requirements.
  • Advocate for controls owners while protecting the company and measuring auditor requests to internal expectations and appropriateness.
  • Track projects, tasks, and auditor RFIs and provide high level status updates to manager.  
  • Provide awareness of upcoming potential changes from internal and external auditors.
  • Identify and report any compliance issues or violations and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them.
  • Proactively educate team members and leaders to develop understanding of required ITGC/ITAC compliance in an increasing control environment. Answer questions and respond to concerns from control owners with high quality customer service.
  • Lead annual reviews of vendor SOC reports and collect evidence of review with appropriate actions taken to ensure potential risks are mitigated.
  • Submit evidence of review and any mitigation plans to internal auditors.

Bring your VIBE:

  • 5 years of experience working in Human Resources in an audit and compliance capacity.
  • 5 years of working knowledge of Workday core HCM including business processes, reporting, security, field maintenance, etc.
  • Self-motivated, including strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage changing requirements.
