As an Associate Electrical Engineer at Disneyland Resort, you will provide engineering support for low voltage (600V and below) and medium voltage (5kV and 12kV) AC and DC electrical systems. Responsibilities include developing bid-level construction documents, providing immediate support for electrical issues and maintenance, functioning as an owner's representative in project development, design reviews, and construction activities. You will also support proposal development and workload estimates with critical path schedule dates. This collaborative role involves managing design and development with in-house and outside resources, coordinating design activities, monitoring field installations, and ensuring compliance with specifications and code requirements.
Must have:
  • 0-2 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience with basic design, procurement, and construction support
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Minimum 1 year of AutoCAD and Revit experience
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu
  • Familiar with California Electrical code and ANSI/IEEE Standards
  • BS Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Good to have:
  • EIT/FE working towards PE license
  • Disney College Program or Professional Internship experience
  • Other Disneyland Resorts Lines of Business experience
  • Lighting design and implementation with certification

Job Description:

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will provide engineering support for the inception, design development, implementation, and sustainment of low voltage (600V and below) and medium voltage (5kV and 12kV) AC and DC electrical systems at the Disneyland Resort. You will help develop bid level construction documents including drawings and specifications. Another responsibility is to provide immediate support and response to electrical issues and support of maintenance activities. You will function as an owner’s representative in project development, design reviews and construction activities. You will also support the development and authoring of proposals and develop workload estimates with critical path schedule dates to support our project management team.

You will report to the Manager, Sustaining Engineering with DLR Architecture & Facilities Engineering.

Responsibilities

Leadership:
•    In this collaborative role, you will function as Owner’s Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort.

Management:
•    Manage the design and development of contract documents of projects with in-house and outside resources to meet project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
•    Coordinate design activities and monitor field installations and demolition work that comply with specifications and code requirements.

Technical Skills:
•    Use and build your experience to develop concept designs and RFP’s (Request for Proposals).
•    Review drawings, engineering calculations, and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable local and state codes and statutes.
•    Review shop drawing submittals and respond to vendor’s requests for information per Resort standards. 
•    Site visits to problem solve issues and minimize schedule impacts.

Relationship:
•    Partner with internal teams to develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce Walt Disney Company design guidelines, standards, master specifications, and details.
•    Assist Project and Design Managers to resolve design compliance issues relating to Projects requirements. Validate that all Item Specifications are consistent with products installed before archiving manuals.
•    Build enhanced communications and expectations to successfully execute all projects.

Basic Qualifications
•    0 to 2 years of work experience in electrical engineering discipline with related field experience.
•    Experienced with basic design, procurement, and construction support.
•    Ability to collaborate and endeavor in a team environment to ensure a successful product.
•    Minimum of 1 year of AutoCAD and Revit experience.
•    Experienced with Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu.
•    You must be a self-starting collaborator to provide experience to bring concepts into physical reality.
•    Familiar with California Electrical code, ANSI/IEEE Electrical Standards, California energy code (i.e., Title 24), able to develop concepts, further and enhance electrical safety practices, and procedures within electrical engineering design, implementation, and provide overall discipline stewardship.

Preferred Qualifications
•    EIT/FE working towards a Professional Engineers License.
•    Disney College Program or Professional Internship experience.
•    Other Disneyland Resorts Lines of Business (LOB) experience.
•    Lighting design and implementation with certification

Required Education
•    BS Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

The hiring range for this position in California is $76,800.00-$95,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
