Job Overview:

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of scalable, efficient, and high-performing web applications. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of RESTful APIs and MySQL databases. As part of our development team, you will work on building, testing, and maintaining APIs that interact with front-end applications and backend systems, as well as optimise and manage MySQL databases for fast, reliable performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain web applications using Laravel and PHP.
• Collaborate with senior developers to design and implement new features and functionality.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
• Troubleshoot and debug application issues and provide timely solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and learn best practices.
• Work with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Contribute to the development of APIs and integration with third-party services.
• Assist in database design and management (MySQL).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong foundation in CorePHP and Laravel.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficient in MySQL and Redis, experience designing complex database schemas and implementing high-performance caching and data store solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as Laravel, and Lumen.
• Understanding of MVC design patterns
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with Node.js for backend services and applications.
• Proficiency in Git, and GitHub to ensure proper code versioning and collaboration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work well within cross-functional teams.
