Job Description
As an SDE 2 - Backend at FanCode, you will build high-performance, scalable software platforms. Responsibilities include developing and owning product components from inception to scaling, supporting new requirements, and re-architectures. You'll collaborate with product and engineering leaders, implement platform vision, and continuously evaluate new technologies. FanCode's tech stack includes AWS, Cloudfront, API Gateway, NGINX, Node.js/Java, Redis, ElastiCache, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, and Redshift. The role requires expertise in building and scaling software, working with databases, and implementing RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in software development and strong skills in algorithms, data structures, and web frameworks.
Must have:
- 4-6 years hands-on coding experience (Java/Node.js preferred)
- Proficiency in algorithms and advanced data structures
- Strong relational and NoSQL database skills
- Experience with web frameworks and RESTful APIs

Our tech stack is hosted on AWS and is built on Cloudfront / AWS API Gateway, NGINX, Node.js / Java, Redis / ElastiCache and MySQL / Cassandra as our end to end stack.
Besides these, we heavily use Kafka, Spark, Redshift and other cutting edge tech to keep improving FanCode's performance. As a data-driven team, we also use R, Python and other big data technologies for Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics.
Your Role:
- Building high performance and scalable software platforms
- Developing and owning product components – from inception to production to scaling up, supporting new requirements, re-architectures
- Work with leaders in Product and Engineering to drive and implement platform and product vision
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve development efficiency
Must Have:
- 4-6 years of hands-on coding and expertise in any programming language, preferably Java / Node.js
- Proficiency in implementation of algorithms and use of advanced data structures
- Strong relational and NoSQL database skills
- Hands on experience on Web framework and RESTful APIs
