Onward Search seeks a Business Development Specialist for a temporary, remote opportunity (30-35 hours/week) supporting a law firm's Finance, Restructuring, and Tax practice groups. Responsibilities include updating marketing materials, coordinating client events (CLEs, seminars, conferences), assisting with proposals and directory submissions (Chambers, IFLR), managing content systems (NEXL, iManage, RubyLaw), and tracking proposal activity. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of business development experience in a law firm, proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant legal software, and strong communication and organizational skills. Possibility of conversion to full-time after 8-12 weeks.

We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist for an exciting, temporary opportunity supporting the Finance, Restructuring, and Tax practice groups of an international law firm. This fully remote position offers flexibility, with a 30-35 hour workweek and the possibility of conversion after 8-12 weeks.

As a Business Development Specialist, you’ll play a key role in driving business development and marketing efforts for a prestigious law firm. You’ll collaborate with attorneys and stakeholders to support various initiatives including proposals, marketing materials, event planning, and knowledge management. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a leading international firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Update marketing materials, attorney biographies, and capabilities decks to reflect the firm’s brand and offerings.
  • Coordinate logistics for client-facing events, including CLEs, seminars, and conferences.
  • Assist with proposals, rankings, and directory submissions (e.g., Chambers, IFLR, and league tables).
  • Maintain content and experience management systems, and track pitch and proposal activity.
  • Manage workflow and submissions using tools such as NEXL, iManage, RubyLaw, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of business development experience in a specialist role at a law firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), iManage, and RubyLaw (training available for NEXL).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and event management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage proposals, directories, and events in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Note: To qualify for our benefits package, candidates must work over 30 hours per week and commit to a minimum 10-week assignment.
