Onward Search is seeking an experienced Copy Editor for a 12-month contract opportunity with a well-known technology giant. This fully remote role (PST time zone preferred) requires 5+ years of experience editing communications within a creative team, and a strong interest in utilizing AI tools in content development. Responsibilities include editing and proofreading various digital and print materials, collaborating with writers and designers, and ensuring brand consistency. The ideal candidate possesses strong writing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills, familiarity with style guides (like The Chicago Manual of Style), and proficiency in Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. A BA/BS degree is preferred. Qualified applicants will complete a copyediting test.

This fully remote role offers a preference for candidates in the PST time zone.

As a Copy Editor, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest quality of written communications for one of the world's most iconic brands. You’ll collaborate with writers, designers, and other team members to maintain clarity, accuracy, and consistency across various digital and print media. This position offers an exciting chance to work on dynamic projects while honing your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and proofread digital and print communications, including marketing and engagement content, internal copy, emails, social media posts, reference materials, signage, and presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with writers and team members to maintain high editorial standards and ensure global retail communications are clear, accurate, and on-brand.
  • Review projects at all stages of design and production to ensure consistency and quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in editing communications, ideally within a creative team or organization.
  • Experience or a strong interest in utilizing artificial intelligence tools in content development.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of U.S.-style English, including grammar, punctuation, and usage.
  • Familiarity with style guides such as The Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
  • BA/BS degree preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work 30+ hours per week and your assignment must last at least 10 weeks.
