Job Description

Western Digital is seeking a Data Analyst with at least 8 years of experience to gather data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, and web scraping. The role involves handling missing values, correcting errors, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data performance. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining data models, developing data products to solve business problems, performing statistical analysis, and preparing reports and dashboards. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document data flows and lineage, and stay updated with industry trends. Key tasks include metadata management, partnering with data governance teams, and understanding business functions as they relate to data.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience with diverse data platform technologies
  • Experience with data quality tools (e.g., Informatica Data Quality, Atlan, Collibra)
  • Experience with data structures from ERP, CRM, and other sources
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Experience with modern Lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Develop Entity Relationship Diagrams using data modeling tools
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques
Good to have:
  • Functional domain knowledge in Finance or Supply chain with manufacturing background
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Gathering data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, and web scraping. 
  • Possessing deep knowledge of data analytics principles, tools, and technologies. 
  • Handling missing values, correcting errors, and ensuring data consistency, data quality, and optimizing data performance. 
  • Create and maintain data models that structure and organize data within a domain, ensuring clarity and consistency. 
  • Create data products, designed to solve specific business problems within a domain. 
  • Performing statistical analysis and modeling to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in the data.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate insights and findings. 
  • Using data to identify and solve business problems, improve processes, and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including, Data Engineers, Data scientists, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, IT & Business teams.
  • Document and maintain end to end data flows, Data Lineage, Data Catalog for various data marts.
  • Be a liaison between solution architects, BSA’s and data engineers to ensure compliance to standards of Data integrations, data management and review the data solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge and encourage team to continuously improve their skill’s

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience working with diverse data platform technologies.
  • Experience on any of the data Quality tools like Informatica Data Quality, Atlan, Collibra, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience working with data structures coming from variety of ERP, CRM and other data sources.
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
  • Experience working with at least one modern Lakehouse platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, etc.
  • Experience working with Tableau, Power BI, or other Data visualization tools.
  • Develop Entity Relationship Diagrams using and data modeling tools.
  • Functional domain knowledge in Finance, Supply chain with manufacturing background.
  • Responsible for metadata management of data domain, inclusive of data definitions, data catalog, data lineage and documentation of data flow for critical processes, Sox compliance
  • Partner with data governance team and business analysts
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of business functions, processes, and relationships as it relates to data

SKILLS

  • Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, etc.).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and tools. Knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques is desirable.

Ability to analyze, communicate and solve complex problems.
