The Discovery Program Manager at Google supports the end-to-end discovery lifecycle for legal matters. This role applies project management best practices to the legal discovery process, leveraging technical expertise and industry knowledge to manage challenges globally. Responsibilities include coordinating activities between in-house and outside counsel and the discovery operations team to manage data preservation, collection, processing, hosting, and production. The role also involves driving metrics and tracking initiatives, testing and deploying new technology, improving discovery workflows, and providing project and program management support for various legal matters. The Program Manager serves as a solutions consultant on cross-functional projects, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to create efficient and cost-effective processes.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years in consulting/program management (discovery focus)
- Project/Program Management certification (preferred)
- Experience with eDiscovery platforms
- Excellent problem-solving & communication skills

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in consulting/program management with a focus on discovery support.
Preferred qualifications:
- Program/Project Management certification.
- Experience working with relational databases, as well as using business intelligence tools or dashboarding tools to track and report on metrics.
- Ability to effectively manage complexity and multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate and operate within electronic discovery (ediscovery) document review platforms.
- Ability to make connections, with effective business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Excellent entrepreneurial and problem solving skills.

On the discovery program management team, we serve as solutions consultants supporting the end-to-end discovery life-cycle for Google's legal matters. We apply project management best practices and principles to the legal discovery process. We leverage our technical expertise and industry knowledge to manage cutting-edge challenges and drive impactful change on a global scale. We are technical liaisons who assist with the development and deployment of custom solutions, and we own process improvement initiatives designed to fuel organizational efficiency and velocity.As a Program Manager, you will play an integral role in supporting Google's lead and outside counsel on litigation and investigations. You will assist in the day-to-day management of Google's data collection, processing, production efforts, as well as serve as a solutions consultant on cross-functional projects. You will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to create and manage the efficient and cost-effective processes to support Google's discovery program. In this role, you will be trusted to lead complex and often sensitive cross-departmental strategic initiatives. You will be relied on as a thought partner and problem solver, connecting people and technology in order to drive progress.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $107,000-$153,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities between in-house counsel, outside counsel, and the discovery operations team in order to help manage the data preservation, collection, processing, hosting, and production processes.
- Drive metrics and tracking initiatives to assist in the development of stakeholder reporting workflows.
- Pioneer the testing and deployment of new technology to assist in day-to-day operations.
- Support the continuous improvement of discovery workflows and processes.
- Provide project and program management support for key discovery workflows on a variety of matters, including patent and general litigation, internal and regulatory investigations, as well as competition matters.
