About Steel City Interactive

SCI was born out of passion for video games and boxing, with the ambition to create an authentic and exciting boxing game that does justice to the sport we love. What started as a fun prototype has grown into ‘Undisputed’, the first major boxing video game in over a decade.

The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and organised HR and Finance Administrator to support our Human Resources and Finance departments. This dual-role position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, who can efficiently manage finance-related tasks while also providing essential HR support. You will be responsible for financial administration such as invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and payment preparation, while also assisting with key HR functions.


Responsibilities

Finance Administration:

  1. Invoicing and Statements:
    • Prepare and issue invoices and statements to clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
    • Process incoming invoices, verify details, and update records to maintain accurate financial data.
  2. Payment Processing:
    • Match invoices with payments, ensuring all records are aligned and up to date.
    • Prepare and schedule batch payments, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
    • Update payment files and logs to ensure consistent tracking of outgoing payments.
  3. Reconciliations:
    • Perform bank reconciliations, comparing transactions with financial records and investigating any discrepancies.
    • Conduct credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and properly categorised.
  4. Employee Expenses:
    • Process employee expenses, verifying receipts and compliance with company policies, and ensuring timely reimbursement.

Human Resources Support:

  1. HR Administration:
    • Assist in maintaining employee records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date in the HR system.
    • Support recruitment activities by coordinating interview schedules, assisting with candidate communications, and preparing onboarding documents for new starters.
    • Process new employee paperwork, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and filed appropriately.
  2. Payroll Assistance:
    • Prepare relevant data for payroll processing, including approved expenses and payment adjustments.
    • Coordinate with the payroll team to ensure employee payments are accurate and timely.
  3. Employee Relations & Queries:
    • Act as a point of contact for HR-related queries, directing team members to the appropriate resources and escalating issues as needed.
    • Support the organisation of company events, training sessions, and other HR-related activities.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Education: A relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in an administrative role with finance responsibilities; experience in both finance and HR is a strong advantage.
    • Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and HR systems is beneficial.
  • Key Skills:
    • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and comfortable with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and data entry.
