Responsibilities

As an ML Software Engineer at Match Group AI, you will collaborate with Match Group's global teams, including Tinder and Hinge, to lead various projects that innovate user experience in the dating domain using AI technologies (generative AI, on-device AI, recommendation systems). You will proactively lead the entire process from idea conception to prototyping and engineering for actual user delivery, solving problems across job roles and technology stacks.

User interaction and experience based on AI technology are entirely new areas, different from the grammar of existing IT products. Therefore, ML Software Engineers collaborate closely with ML Engineers and Product Managers to realize imagined UX based on their understanding of AI technology and development capabilities. This role is not merely about serving models but involves participating in the entire productization process to ensure that features deliver meaningful value in actual services.

In the prototyping phase, you will cover a wide range of areas from backend APIs to mobile (iOS/Android) and web frontend. Working in a close-knit, purpose-driven organization, you will validate user value through rapid experimentation and iteration, and learn from failures. Even after prototyping, you will collaborate with engineers worldwide, including those at Tinder and Hinge, to stably deliver AI products to global users and perform engineering for efficient and robust productization.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in mobile (iOS/Android) or backend server development.
• Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases).
• Interest in AI technology and a basic understanding of ML.
• Proficiency in one or more of Swift, Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, Python, and the ability to learn and use other programming languages.
• Basic communication skills in English and fluent communication skills in Korean.

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfortable working across various tech stacks including mobile (Swift/Kotlin), web frontend (React), and backend (Spring/FastAPI).
• Experience with on-device ML technologies (TFLite/CoreML) and mobile (App/SDK) development using them.
• Experience developing and serving services using ML models (vLLM/Triton/Seldon).
• Experience in UX design.
• Strong interest in developer productivity and AI tools.
• Interest in the mission of the dating domain, which connects people.
• Experience collaborating with multiple organizations.
• Fluent business communication in English.
