An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team in Rotherham at our world-class Automated Blade Casting Facility.
We are currently going through an exciting phase of growth as we install additional equipment, optimise our factory layout for flow, and validate new part types to increase our capacity to meet growing industry demand.

The Advanced Blade Casting Facility (ABCF) situated in Rotherham is a state-of-the-art modern factory focused on high volume single crystal High Pressure and Intermediate Pressure turbine blade casting manufacture for large civil aero engines, employing world class automated processes, integrated manufacturing systems and advanced measurement techniques, it’s our people who keep us at the forefront of discovery. What you will be doing
In this exciting role, you will be:
A key part of the on-site Manufacturing Engineering team working as either a ‘Component Owner’ or ‘Process Owner’ dependent on your skill set and career aspirations.
Component Owners are responsible for the creation of manufacturing methods, ensuring component conformance to specifications, identifying opportunities to reduce defects and improve part cost. You’ll be working with Design Engineering to align product design specifications with manufacturing capability, and with our internal and external suppliers and customers to improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.
Process Owners are responsible for one or a number of our advanced manufacturing processes on site. Specifying and installing new equipment, programming automated and robot cells, identifying and implementing improvements to process capability and cycle times.
In either role you will be analysing data and using a structured approach to solve problems; finding root causes and implementing improvements to our manufacturing processes and methods.
Controlling method change through Method Verification Approval (MVA), verifying conformance through First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
Owning and working within capital budgets, delivering forecast spending.
Collaborating with other ABCF Engineers, other functions and other Rolls-Royce production and research facilities to standardise processes and share best-practice.

A degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering or a related discipline, coupled with prior experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in technical problem-solving, along with a solid understanding of Six Sigma / Lean methodologies.
Excellent organisational, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and present to diverse audiences.
A flexible attitude to work, and a keen interest in learning.
Essential strong team collaboration skills.

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7 - 10.
