We are seeking a Paralegal to join the LeoVegas Group legal team, which consists of 20 legal professionals located in Sliema (Malta), Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), Stockholm (Sweden), and Gibraltar. The role is primarily within the Corporate, Litigation & Tech Unit, focusing on assisting with day-to-day legal work, particularly litigation. Responsibilities include maintaining a litigation log, assisting in-house and external lawyers with litigious claims, liaising with internal teams for claim information, supporting administrative tasks like proofreading contracts and managing the contract system, assisting with supplier onboarding and due diligence, drafting basic legal documents, maintaining records, and improving administrative processes for claims management.
Must have:
  • UK/EU degree or diploma in a relevant subject
  • Previous legal work experience
  • Meticulous organizational skills
  • Understand contract terms and legal documents
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google applications
Good to have:
  • Prior experience in the iGaming sector

ABOUT THE ROLE           
We are looking for a Paralegal to join the LeoVegas Group legal team. We are a growing team of 20 legal professionals located between Sliema (Malta), Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), Stockholm (Sweden) and Gibraltar. The group legal team is divided into two sub-teams, the Commercial & IP Unit and the Corporate, Litigation & Tech Unit. As a Paralegal in the team, you would be working primarily in the Corporate, Litigation & Tech Unit. Your key focus would be assisting with day-to-day legal work with a focus on litigation.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:       
  • Establishment and maintenance of a litigation log: reviewing numerous existing case files and documents to extract relevant information and transferring data to a comprehensive litigation log.
  • Assisting in-house counsel and external lawyers with handling litigious claims by customers in various jurisdictions and coordinating with various other teams involved in the process.
  • Liaising with and acting as a central point of contact for internal teams, to obtain and transmit all information relating such claims and coordinating the receipt and internal distribution of such claims to relevant departments and external parties.
  • Supporting the team with a variety of administrative tasks including proof reading of contracts, sending contracts for signature, storing contracts or other legal documentation in the contract management system / secure shared drives.
  • Maintenance of an improvements to a contract management system, including extracting and inputting of data pertaining to complex historic contract records.
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new suppliers to the Group, including sending out due diligence questionnaires and reviewing responses and supporting identification and other corporate documentation provided by third party suppliers, to ensure a smooth onboarding process, as well as completing any due diligence requests we receive from third parties and authorities.
  • Drafting letters or basic legal agreements using templates, assisting with the preparation of presentation slides, obtaining legal translations etc.
  • Maintaining appropriate physical and electronic records of all relevant documents and retrieving documents as necessary.
  • Build, assess and improve administrative processes for handling a large volume of claims with tight deadlines.

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Essential skills:
   
  • A qualifying UK/EU degree or diploma in a relevant subject.
  • Previous experience related to legal work.
  • Meticulous organisational skills.
  • Ability to understand key contract terms and basic legal documents and be able to extract the relevant information from complex and extensive documents and summarise them accordingly.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
  • Be highly proficient in typing and familiarity with MS Office and Google applications.

Nice to have skills:   
  • Prior experience within the iGaming sector.
