Boskalis is seeking a Planned Maintenance Engineer to standardize and improve planned maintenance processes on offshore vessels. The role involves analyzing current maintenance procedures, identifying areas for improvement in data and workflows, and collaborating with stakeholders to facilitate decision-making. Responsibilities include developing business reporting with KPIs, analyzing SMMS data for insights, proposing process optimizations, and implementing and supporting changes. The engineer will also promote user adoption of new processes and highlight their benefits. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career development and training within the Boskalis academy. The role requires excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Must have:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with asset management software (Maximo, Hexagon, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree level of working and thinking
  • In-depth knowledge of planned maintenance on vessels
  • Strong process thinking talent
  • Good command of English

Job Description

Within the fleet management offshore department, we have the ambition to standardize our operational maintenance processes and information regarding these processes.  As a planned maintenance engineer you make a difference by analyzing, standardizing, and improving the planned maintenance processes on board the Boskalis offshore vessels. You become part of a hybrid team that is responsible for the support of the data, processes,s and the software supporting these.

As a planned maintenance engineer you are a great connector. You do not mind traveling to our vessels to understand their way of working and translate their way of working into a standard in alignment with the Vessel & Fleet managers. We are looking for a candidate who is customer-friendly with great social skills. You are an empathic listener, have great analytical skills and you have great communication skills.   

Your responsibilities as a planned maintenance engineer

  • You are responsible for analyzing the current maintenance processes.
  • You identify points of improvement in data and work procedures.
  • You connect with the key stakeholders, look for alignment, and facilitate the decision-making process.
  • Develop business reporting (KPI’s), analyze and provide insight into SMMS data, and propose process optimizations.
  • You implement and support changes in processes and data.
  • You promote and encourage the users to follow these and put emphasis on the benefits we are looking for.

Your qualities and experience
You can move ahead as a planned maintenance engineer if you have:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as a planned maintenance engineer in a technical organization, preferably Offshore marine experience.
  • Experience with asset management software solutions like Maximo, Hexagon, etc.
  • A working and thinking level at a bachelor’s degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of planned maintenance processes on board vessels. 
  • A good command of written and spoken English.
  • A strong talent in process thinking.
