Job Description

As a Sales Manager within Google's Engage team, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team of account strategists. Responsibilities include driving business growth, exceeding sales goals (OKRs and product adoption), and fostering strong client relationships through C-level engagements. You'll be responsible for team operations, training, and coaching, ensuring high client satisfaction. The role demands strong consultative sales skills to understand advertiser needs and deliver effective solutions. Success requires strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and a proactive approach to innovation and program design. This position is crucial for accelerating business growth within Google Customer Solutions (GCS), focusing on small and medium-sized businesses.
Must have:
  • 11 years of experience in advertising, sales or business development (or 8 years with advanced degree)
  • Fluent French communication for client management
  • Sales team leadership experience
  • Consultative sales approach and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams
Good to have:
  • Experience in commercial teams
  • Experience with brand performance at scale
  • Experience managing sales team operations (portfolio, KPIs)
  • C-level engagement and objection handling skills
  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of industry experience in advertising, sales or business development, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in leading a sales team.
  • Ability to communicate in French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial teams (e.g., sales, marketing).
  • Experience with managing and inspiring high performing sales teams against quotas. Experience in brand performance at scale.
  • Ability to own sales team operations, including portfolio management, team building, KPI measurement, execution. Ability to model and coach behaviours including C-level engagement, effective questioning, objection handling.
  • Ability to take initiative and work in a changing environment. Ability to be resourceful, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders. Passion for consultative solutions sales with a drive to innovate.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

As a Sales Manager within our Engage team, you'll lead, coach, and motivate a high-performing team to use consultative sales skills to understand our advertisers' needs and deliver solutions that grow their businesses. You will own relationships and partner directly with clients to deliver sustainable solutions. You will accelerate business growth and think strategically about the business segment while working cross-functionally with partner teams. You will think outside the box and you'll be an advocate for customers to help shape the engagement and program design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management, operations, training, coaching, and support of a cross-program team of GCS Small Business Solutions Engage Account Strategists and Accelerated Growth Team Strategist.
  • Manage, inspire, and motivate a team of client-facing and high-performing Googlers, supporting career development and growth.
  • Deliver business growth and engagement, and ensure high client satisfaction. Meet or exceed goals associated with these objectives, including OKRs and relevant product adoption goals.
  • Strengthen client relations through key C-level meetings, reviews, and speaking engagements.
