Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Software Engineering

A quick snapshot…

As a Sr. Software Engineer at Conga, you will be working in a fast-paced environment which needs a mindset of a startup professional who is not hesitant to constantly shift gears, test and learn. You will be working with a team of accomplished software engineers, as well as with machine learning engineers, to develop solutions to enable our users to quickly analyze complex documents and collect key information from them.

This is one of the critical roles in the project, where you will be an expert in design and implementing software to integrate with Conga’s ML solutions. You'll will act as a senior  mentor your team members and be a good team player. We believe in using the best tools for the task at hand so the ability and desire to learn new programming languages and technologies is a must. All of this adds up to an exciting, challenging, and always interesting place to work, where complex problems are found and solved every day. This role determines the root cause for the most complex software issues and develops practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.

Are you the person we’re looking for?

Related Experience. You should have 5+ years in ReactJS, NodeJS and Restful web services with a demonstrated drive to learn and progress in the field of technology and the art of development. You should have experience in building back-end micro-services from scratch and a good amount of hands-on into REST APIs, design patterns and data structures.

Scripting Languages. You should have hands-on experience in any of the scripting languages like JavaScript or TypeScript or Node.js.

Deployment Tools. You should possess hands-on experience working with containers, Kubernetes and demonstrate success executing development work within an Agile environment. 

Source Control & Team collaboration tools. You should be proficient with source control and team collaboration tools like GitHub, Jira & Microsoft Teams.

AWS or Azure Cloud. You should be proficient in cloud architecture, cloud design patterns, and AWS or Azure cloud technologies.

Education. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

When you speak, you are clear and concise. Your strong listening skills help to build trust and foster connections with our clients. They also ensure you collect the right information so you can resolve issues most expediently.

Work Cross-functionality. You are likely to have experience in work cross-functionally environment with various Conga teams like product management, QA/QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results

Initiative. You do not wait around for things to happen or for your manager to tell you what to do. You are not only proactive about completing your own work, but when you sense the need to introduce a project that will benefit the team or the organization -- even if it’s outside your scope of work -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it. And that also goes back to having an entrepreneurial spirit.  

Passionate Problem Solver. Proactive, self-driven, and enjoys solving complex problems, not just in the primary area of responsibility but across boundaries. Identify and implement best practices for coding as well as development processes and perform as a trusted contributor requiring little to no supervision and demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines, exceed goals, and create benchmarks for success.
