The Disney Entertainment Television Production Technology team is focused on implementing innovative solutions to support the production of episodic television. The team works to implement solutions across production, post-production, production finance, business affairs and creative affairs for multiple studios and platforms. We are focused on building solutions to business problems that increase insight and operational efficiency and are looking for a technical analyst to join our team.
Work closely with high level executives to understand their problems and design solutions
Lead user acceptance testing and document results
Lead meetings with business users to gather requirements and demo system functionality
Detailed analysis of data using a SQL database, multi-dimensional database, or Excel
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
Provide first line support for user reported issues
Develop test cases, estimate test effort, perform application testing, and document test results
Create training materials and train users
Collaborate closely with developers to learn the application
Identify and communicate risks and issues
Track sprint progress using JIRA
Web application testing
Report testing
Interface testing
Conversion testing and reconciliation
Data validation using Excel and SQL
10+ years of experience working on custom software development projects
Project management skills require
Experience with conducting data analysis within financial reporting
Ability to understand complex systems and end-to-end business processes
Experience writing test plans and performing application testing
Experience conducting user acceptance testing
Comfortable working in Agile/SCRUM environment
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate closely with developers and business analysts
Produces high quality written deliverables (specifications, test plans)
Advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables, vlookup, formulas
Ability to use basic SQL to query a database
Must live within a commutable distance to Burbank, CA. (The role will move from Century City and require 4 days onsite weekly.)
Experience working at a major studio
Experience working in television production or distribution
Experience working on financial systems
Experience with SAP financials
Experience with Airtable
Experience with Snowflake or Oracle relational databases
Experience using Hyperion Planning
Experience with SOX applications
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
Master’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
