Responsibilities include leading data governance, metrics reporting, KPI development, and optimizing data processes. This role also involves managing project plans, vendor relationships, designing efficient business operations across career services, and planning dynamic career events. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams (HR, TA, Communications, Legal), international stakeholders, and leverage data to identify skill gaps and align them with career needs. Leadership and mentorship of a team of professionals are also key responsibilities. The role requires strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and experience working in a global environment.
Must have:
  • 7+ years experience in Data Analytics, Project Management, HR, or related field
  • 5+ years leadership experience including feedback and coaching
  • Proficiency in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Strong project and program management experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Job Overview

The Learning & Talent Solutions COE Career Development team is responsible for the development and management of various global programs focused on employee skill development, including Disney Aspire and the salaried education reimbursement program. The Career Development team is setting and implementing strategy for employees to reach their potential within The Walt Disney Company.

The Senior Manager will provide oversight and strategic direction over the data and operations of the Career Development team, including metrics and impact analysis. The Senior Manager will also lead the development of effective and efficient operations and processes enhancements across Career programs, as well as leading strategy, planning, and execution of dynamic career events and services. This individual will be a key partner across all Career work and will provide leadership to the overall culture of career work through support of events, engagement opportunities, and talent sourcing and pipelining efforts

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy for data governance work streams to ensure integrity and quality of large data sets that inform business decisions and optimize operations, influencing 3rd party vendors and internal analytics partners to manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide ongoing strategic direction for data management, metrics reporting, and KPI development. Lead efforts to track key metrics and optimize data processes and deliverables.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and manage project plans/timelines, collaborating with key partners for strategic alignment across all career work. Ensure clear reporting of project status including timelines, milestone tracking, budget status, and risk or issue identification and resolution.
  • Support management of new and ongoing vendor relationships to support data and analytic needs. Lead analytics discovery, updates, and support general vendor management conversations with many solution providers located around the globe.
  • Lead efforts to design effective and optimized business operations across career services and integrated process across LTS. Embody spirit of continuous improvement and alignment to enhancing speed and navigation for the team.
  • Guide the planning process for events, cross-functional teams, internal and external, through all phases of events, including conceptualization, planning, budget management, execution and post-event.
  • Champion positive relationships with segment learning teams, key partners (HR, TA, Communications, Legal), and functional business areas to align and execute on career programs.
  • Lead Career Development team partnership with key international stakeholders.  Model an integrated approach with international learning partners, frequently adjusting to alternate time zones to collaborate; track skill needs and learner/business participation in career programs and offerings.
  • Use data to identify skill gaps across TWDC and align to career areas of need.
  • Lead a team of professionals, providing strategic guidance for project work; develop and mentor direct reports and extended Career Development team members.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership skills, taking a concept and working towards implementation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in Data Analytics, Project Management, HR, Talent Acquisition or related field.
  • 5+ years’ demonstrated leadership experience, including feedback and coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, including workforce metrics, talent acquisition metrics, and employee sentiment data.
  • Proficiency leading efforts to organize, cleanse, and manipulate complex and data sources such as workforce, talent acquisition, and employee sentiment data
  • Demonstrated success working in a global environment and understanding needs of international colleagues.
  • Experience in strategy development or execution.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, integrated team environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and display flexibility and agility when faced with challenges or ambiguity.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong project and program management experience.
  • Experience working with external vendors.
  • Proven strong experience in MS Excel and all MS Office Products.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships; strong partnering skills.
  • Proven capability to work with clients at all levels across business units.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, decision-making skills and continuous improvement process skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in event planning, logistics, management, and/or execution.
  • Familiarity and ability to leverage data programs such as: Workday and SAP administration tools, data visualization tools (Tableau), and statistical software programs (SQL, Python, R, Dataiku)

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics or related degree preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $163,200.00 to $199,400.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
