The Team

The Product Design team is a central pillar of Tinder’s product organization, responsible for driving forward our most critical user experiences—from the iconic swipe stack to how members message and connect. We’re a small, focused group that thrives on tackling complex problems, pushing for meaningful innovation, and shaping the foundational surfaces of the app that millions interact with daily.

As a Sr. Product Designer, you’ll bring seasoned communication skills, a sharp product instinct, and a strong passion for designing at scale. In this role, you’ll partner directly with the teams shaping Tinder’s core browse and chat experiences. You’ll lead end-to-end design work across these high-impact surfaces, contributing to a culture of thoughtful, high-quality design while helping evolve some of the most visible and essential parts of Tinder’s product experience.

Where you’ll work:

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three times per week in Los Angeles, CA.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the end-to-end design process for major product features, from research and ideation through execution and launch.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define problems and develop solutions.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate design concepts and user flows.
• Advocate for user needs and accessibility throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Mentor and provide feedback to junior designers, contributing to team growth and design excellence.
• Contribute to and help evolve the design system and best practices.
• Present and articulate design decisions to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and balancing user and business needs.

You’ll need:

• 5+ years of experience in product design or a related field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in interaction, visual, and UX design.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and agile environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to balance user needs with business objectives and technical constraints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have:

• Experience designing for mobile and web platforms at scale.
• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
• Background in user research or usability testing.
• Experience mentoring or leading other designers.
• Knowledge of front-end development principles or hands-on coding skills.
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Passion for dating, social, or community-driven products.
