Summary

Rovio is seeking a Strategy Manager to contribute to the development and execution of its corporate strategy. This role involves long-term planning, creating business cases for new growth areas, designing strategies across various platforms (gaming and transmedia), and managing the game portfolio and roadmap. Significant responsibilities include conducting analysis and due diligence for potential M&A activities, supporting SEGA integration projects, and working closely with Rovio and SEGA's top management. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments, lead workstreams, develop compelling business cases, and present strategic recommendations to leadership. The position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Must have:

We are looking for a Strategy Manager to join our Strategy team responsible for developing Rovio’s corporate strategy, driving long-term planning, developing business cases to find new growth areas, designing different strategies from gaming to transmedia, and managing game portfolio and roadmap. You will also get a chance to focus more on corporate development conducting analysis and due diligence on potential M&A targets.

This is a unique opportunity to join Rovio! You will get interesting problems to solve and plenty of opportunities to impact Rovio’s future as the Strategy team is responsible for integration with SEGA and driving various synergy projects. The team reports to the Rovio CEO, and will work closely with top management of Rovio and SEGA on a wide range of important and impactful projects - shaping the future of Rovio. 

The team is located in our HQ in Espoo, Finland and works in a hybrid mode with 2-3 days onsite in the office. 

You will have impact and fun at work by:

  • Working across business units and functions to frame the corporate strategy and drive alignment and execution on key initiatives
  • Working in project teams to impact Rovio’s long-term growth, and getting an opportunity to lead significant work streams or independent strategy projects
  • Developing and presenting compelling business cases and evaluating investment and strategic partnership opportunities by performing a broad range of qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Conducting comprehensive due diligence and evaluation of potential M&A opportunities aligned with Rovio's strategic objectives, including financial analysis, market assessment, and strategic fit
  • Supporting with SEGA integration and synergy projects
  • Managing multiple projects and programs (often simultaneously) and proactively communicating with Rovio leadership
  • Providing concise presentations with clear insight and recommendations for management decisions

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • A Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • A few years experience in management consulting, investment banking or equivalent in an inhouse strategy function 
  • Good knowledge of corporate financials and experience with financial modelling and analysis
  • Past experience and interest in M&A projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically, applying a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and ability to visualise and document the facts into easily approachable format
  • Proficient in handling multiple tasks and effectively prioritising competing demands within a fast-paced environment

It would be nice if you also have the following skills:

  • Understanding of some of these businesses: mobile games, other gaming, consumer and entertainment businesses
