As the Technology Operations Manager (Advisor), you will serve as a strategic partner to the CTO and the technology organization, ensuring efficient operations. Your role will encompass managing key projects, facilitating communication, and optimizing Wave's technology tool utilization, with a particular focus on optimizing cloud (AWS) spend. You will collaborate with the CTO, technology leadership team, procurement, and finance to drive tool optimization, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize cloud usage. Additionally, you will facilitate clear communication of technology initiatives and updates across Wave, build an operating rhythm for the technology organization, identify opportunities for improving processes, streamline operations, collect and analyze data related to technology performance, and provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in a technology role, preferably in a startup or high-growth/high-tech environment
- 3+ years experience in Cloud service management
- Strong project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies
- High degree of proficiency in cloud platforms and financial management tools
- Understanding of cloud architecture and ability to set-up and configure AWS services
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python) for automation tasks
Good to have:

- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)

About the role:
This role will act as a strategic partner to the CTO and the technology organization, ensuring the technology organization operates effectively. This role involves managing key projects, facilitating communication, and optimizing Wave’s use of technology tools including a focus on optimizing cloud (AWS) spend.
Here’s How You Make an Impact:
Financial Management:
Partner with CTO, technology leadership team, procurement, and finance to drive tool optimization, including building department level roadmaps
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies (i.e. resource tagging) to optimize cloud (AWS) usage
Assist in prioritizing initiatives and aligning resources to meet organizational goals
Communication & Liaison:
Facilitate clear communication of technology initiatives and updates across Wave; drive accountability in partnership with the technology leadership team for timely and quality deliverables
Build and lead an operating rhythm for the technology organization, aligning to the overall cadence of the business (i.e. QBRs, operational reviews)
Operational Excellence:
Identify opportunities for improving processes within the technology team
Help streamline operations and enhance team productivity
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Collect and analyze data related to technology performance (OKRs) and initiatives
Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial (budget) performance
You Thrive Here By Possessing the Following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Proven experience in a technology role, preferably in a startup or high-growth/high-tech environment
- 3+ years experience in Cloud service management
- Strong project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies
- High degree of proficiency in cloud platforms and financial management tools (i.e. AWS Cost Explorer)
- Understanding of cloud architecture and ability to set-up and configure AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python) for automation tasks
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are preferred
