The Associate Software Engineer II will develop and deliver high-quality solutions for higher education. Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, participating in all phases of product development (design, coding, testing, maintenance), developing efficient and reusable code, contributing to SCRUM ceremonies, and collaborating with team members to meet commitments. The role requires expertise in Microsoft technologies (.NET, .NET Core, MVC, Web API) and experience with UI frameworks (React, Angular). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
Must have:
  • BE/BTech/MCA in CS/IT or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in web application development
  • .NET/.NET Core, MVC, Web API experience
  • CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript, UI framework (React/Angular)
  • SOLID Principles, Design Patterns, OOP
  • NUnit & Moq, Azure DevOps/TFS, Git
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills

The Associate Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality solutions to the higher education community. This role requires collaboration, analysis, coding, testing, and maintenance to ensure the best possible outcomes for our products.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing business requirements, providing constructive suggestions and input that help refine acceptance criteria
  • Understanding the design for enhancements in the product and developing accordingly; actively participating in design discussions
  • Participating in all phases of product development through development, unit testing, testing and demonstration
  • Developing testable, reusable, efficient, legible code for enhancements in Product Suite
  • Stabilizing and maintaining the Product Suite, analyzing the root cause of issues, and suggesting areas for improvement
  • Actively participating in SCRUM ceremonies to raise issues/areas of concern and suggest areas of improvement
  • Working with team members to ensure delivery of high-quality software and team commitments are met

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • BE/BTech/MCA degree or above in Computer Science/IT or equivalent functional experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical background on Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.Net) with minimum 2 years in web-based application development
  • Hands-on experience in .NET/.NET Core, MVC, Web API, WC
  • Hands-on experience with CSS, JavaScript-jQuery, TypeScript, with one or more UI frameworks (React, Angular)
  • Knowledge on SOLID Principles, Design Patterns, OOPS
  • Experience in programming and usage of NUnit & Moq
  • Working experience with Azure DevOps (or TFS) and Git source management
  • Knowledge on Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365 on customization Building Blocks
    • Solutions – Building, Layering and Publishers
    • Schema, Workflow, Business Rules, Plugins 
    • Flow/Power Automate with connectors
    • Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Power Apps 
    • Integrating with 3rd party ISVs 
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and provide viable technical solutions and discuss impacted areas
  • Experience developing testable, reusable, efficient, legible code for enhancements
  • Experience with unit testing and debugging
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment, comfortable with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD implementations
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Azure, Logic Apps, and Power Apps, Dynamics 365 - Solutions Building, (Layering and Publishers, Schema, Workflow, Flows, Business Rules, and Plugins)
  • Good understanding of WCAG, Application Insights, Kendo UI, Sitefinity application
