Job Description

As a Brand Marketing Manager, you'll be responsible for creating and executing marketing plans for games, working with internal and external teams to deliver integrated campaigns. You'll analyze campaign performance, oversee marketing deliverables, and proactively analyze the games market. Collaboration with game teams, development partners, and other marketing disciplines is key, requiring strong communication and cross-functional skills. The role involves championing games internally, ensuring alignment across marketing, PR, and sales. A strong understanding of P&L and commercial priorities is essential.

Brand Marketing Manager  

Hybrid (will require some travel to our offices, 4 days in the office per month)

Team17 Digital is a leading, independent video games label and creative partner for developers from all over the world. Our mission is: delivering pioneering indie games that players around the world will love for a lifetime. 

At our core, we develop and publish games to bring quality gaming experiences to players across multiple platforms. We focus on premium, rather than free-to-play games, and we’ve a portfolio of over 100 games, including iconic titles such as Worms, Overcooked, Hell Let Loose and Dredge. The games we publish top the charts on most gaming platforms and we have won many awards from BAFTAs to Golden Joysticks, as well as winning Publisher of the Year at the esteemed Develop Star Awards. 

Our company is the largest and longest-standing entity within Team17 Group Plc, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM market) and includes our sister companies StoryToys and Astragon. 

As a key member of our Marketing team, passion, high energy, positive outlook and creativity are key, being commercially minded with strategic thinking is important, ability to schedule and execute creative dynamic launch campaigns for games is critical. We are looking for someone who has exceptional organisational skills, as well as excellent team communication skills. You will be the internal champion of your games and will take ownership in ensuring all other areas of marketing, PR, Influencer Relations, Community and Sales, run in tandem with your vision and launch campaigns. The candidates we are looking for will show the ability to understand the overall project P&L and balance commercial priorities along the development path to release.  

You will report into the Senior Brand Marketing Manager and work closely with the Head of Marketing. 

  

What will be working on as a Brand Marketing Manager?  

You will take ownership for the creation & execution of marketing plans for your games. Working with internal specialists, agencies and external teams to deliver unique integrated marketing plans that deliver results.  

Analyse and report on campaign performance throughout the lifecycle to inform strategic decision making of both live and future game releases.  

Oversee marketing deliverables, this includes planning and accounting for assets requests, press opportunities, production and to the product plan. Proactively analyse the games marketplace and wider entertainment industry to understand game audiences, competitors, and changes in the industry.  

Work with game teams to supply detailed marketing strategies to best deliver results for their games.  

Ensure all games handled are effectively managed and take a pro-active approach to relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including development partners. 

Bring excellence in creative thought and innovative ambitions to marketing campaigns, inspiring the best in others and always placing the players and product first.  

Act as a champion of collaboration with your teammates: solve problems, elevate thinking and generate ideas however you can with the people closest to the product. 

 

What we would like to see:  

Previous experience releasing games onto multiple platforms, within indie or AAA space and anything in between.  

Previous experience in creating and executing inventive marketing strategic to bring a diverse range of games to market.  

An analytical mindset, with the ability to synthesize data, market trends and user feedback to assist the team in creating insightful product features.  

Strong communication skills and a natural ability to influence. You should be a proactive, determined and effective cross-functional driver.  

Positive attitude engaged work ethic, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.  

Developer partner management / relationship experience.

The Interview Process   

Stage 1 (up to 60 minutes) You’ll initially meet with a Senior Brand Manager. This will be your chance to talk through your experience, whilst also having the opportunity to ask any questions.   

Stage 2 (up to 45 minutes) You’ll meet people from our Marketing team.   

Stage 3 (3 x 45 minutes) For the final stage you’ll meet with some key stakeholders from different disciplines within Publishing who you’d be working with day to day. The topics of each of these interviews will be sent to you in advance of the meeting.
