An exciting opportunity to join one of Mercer’s largest and most rapidly-growing business areas – Investment Solutions. As part of our Investment Solutions International Client Operations Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and executing Client Events.
The Client Operations (Events) Team has the following responsibilities:
- Client Events, which encompasses the co-ordination and execution of client events from an operational perspective, including the on-boarding of new client monies onto the Mercer platform and the restructure of existing client portfolios.
- End-to-end Share Class Process, from identifying sub-fund share class requirements & supplement up-dates, to share class setups and through to the seeding of new share classes.
- Client pipeline reporting, up-dating and maintaining a pipeline of client wins and losses and reporting of this to Senior Leadership Team.
This role will be multi-faceted and fluid, requiring an individual that has a diverse background across Funds & Asset Management. The core experience and skills will be a mix of fund operations, middle office services, business development, relationship & stakeholder management and leadership skills.
We will rely on you to:
- Assist with the coordination of client events, which includes scoping out the nature of the event (e.g. cash / in-specie transitions, client restructures etc.), identifying the key tasks & requirements to ensure the client event gets executed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide support to the team for technical queries, BAU deadlines and complex projects.
- Work in partnership with our internal and external teams to ensure assigned tasks are completed effectively with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency and professionalism at all times.
- Take ownership of team processes whilst always being conscious of the risk of error and ensuring that we have appropriate controls and checks in place to achieve consistently excellent results.
- Consistently prioritize work. Identify issues but also offer and put forward ideas and solutions. Ensure all issues are communicated and escalated appropriately to the Client Operations Manager.
- Attend daily team conference calls along with other weekly/ad-hoc calls to allow for effective communication and escalation of matters when required.
- Identify areas for training and development and be pro-active in finding ways to achieve development plans.
- Develop and implement appropriate risk controls and procedures and ensure all parties are adhering to the agreed controls and standards in all client operational tasks.
- Train and develop junior colleagues.
What you need to have:
- A relevant professional qualification with sufficient experience in Fund Accounting or similar roles.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and coherent manner.
- Technical knowledge of fund structures, parties to a fund and the differing fund types.
- Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
What makes you stand out:
- Experience in Asset Management is highly desirable.
- Self-starter with energy, proactivity and desire to see things done efficiently.
- Prior experience in client transitions / client on-boarding preferable but not essential.
- Accuracy & attention to detail key requirements.
- Solutions driven – ability to see the bigger picture and be proactive in identifying areas for service enhancement.
- Strong proficiency in using Excel with experience using daily in previous roles.
