Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Multimedia Designer to support the Army University Press in the development and publication of high-quality academic and professional content. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in visual communication, typography, and color theory, and be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro DC). Responsibilities include designing compelling visual content for print and digital media, developing and maintaining consistent layouts and graphics, managing digital assets, understanding printing processes, and collaborating with clients and team members to meet project requirements and deadlines. This role also involves assisting with content for social media and basic HTML-based platforms, demonstrating attention to detail, and working effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in visual communication, typography, and color theory and be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro DC) and capable of creating engaging layouts and manipulating images with precision.
                          
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design compelling visual content across print and digital media
  • Develop and maintain consistent, accurate layouts and graphics
  • Manage digital assets and understand printing processes for efficient production
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Assist with content tailored for social media and basic HTML-based platforms
  • Strong knowledge of visual communication, typography, and color theory
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro DC)
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and consistency
  • Understanding of printing processes and digital asset management is a plus
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic HTML is desirable

Education/Experience Required
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communications, Communication Design, or related field preferred

Other Qualifications
  • Must be a United States citizen and be able to pass a background check
  • Possess clear and precise oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Able to meet requirements to work on military installation, including having a valid state driver's license and car insurance
  • Be self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframes
  • Be organized with a strong sense of urgency
  • Adhere to established guidelines and procedures
  • Demonstrate high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Capable of providing and receiving constructive feedback
  • Be in attendance and punctual as scheduled
  • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
