Job Description

This customer-facing strategic position requires business, technical, and sales skills. The Marketing Cloud Solutions Architect acts as a domain expert, using a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements. This role helps customers achieve omnichannel customer experiences by applying deep industry knowledge, understanding of data systems and integrations, and experience designing enterprise marketing solutions. Responsibilities include advising customers and the broader Marketing Solutions Engineering team, acting as a Marketing Cloud product expert, working with solutions engineers to understand customer challenges, developing technical integration approaches, creating presentations and demonstrations, leading workshops, and presenting Salesforce Platform and Marketing Cloud technology infrastructure. The Architect will also lead scaling efforts by developing enablement materials and tools.
Must have:
  • 5+ years consulting & solution design experience
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing processes
  • Experience designing data flows across multiple systems
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior audiences
  • Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, SDKs, and applications
  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms & architectures
Good to have:
  • Salesforce Data Cloud & Marketing Cloud experience
  • Familiarity with AI technology in marketing
  • Data lake industry knowledge (Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience with digital advertising technology

About The Position:

This customer-facing strategic position within the Marketing Cloud Solutions Engineering organization requires a blend of business, technical, and sales skills. The Marketing Cloud Solutions Architect acts as a domain expert who utilizes a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements. This role helps customers achieve a true omnichannel customer experience by applying deep industry knowledge, understanding of data systems and integrations, and experience designing enterprise marketing solutions. Architects are tinkerers, hackers, designers, coders, and innovators. They help the sales teams develop and refine a customer-centric technical sales strategy and Salesforce-solution fit and partner with the Sales and Solutions Engineering Teams to provide technical and subject matter expertise in pursuit of strategic Marketing Cloud sales opportunities.

As the most technical presales resource on the presales Solutions team, you will act as a technical backstop to presale solutions engineers. You will assess a customer solution and explain technology capabilities at a very deep level, often on the fly, both internally with Account Executives and Solution Engineers and externally with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the trusted advisor to our customers, prospects, and the broader Marketing Solutions Engineering (SE) team.
  • Be the "go to" Marketing Cloud product expert for the broader Sales team on strategic Marketing Cloud Financial Services accounts.
  • Work with solutions engineers (SEs) to understand the customer's unique business challenges and initiatives and conduct architecture and solutioning workshops.
  • Understand the customer needs and establish the company's product as the best solution to address the technical and business requirements.
  • Develop technical integration approaches, including data flow and architectural diagrams/visuals.
  • Develop customized presentations, demonstrations, and prototypes to prove the solution's business value to the customer.
  • Orchestrate targeted workshops that drive technical approaches and best practices aligned with the customer's defined business objectives and priorities.
  • Present Salesforce Platform and/or Marketing Cloud technology infrastructure, with a deep understanding of the company's platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security, and integration capabilities.
  • Lead scaling efforts by developing enablement materials and tools to support the SE organization.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a track record of excellence.
  • 5+ years of proven consulting and solution design experience in working with customers.
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing processes and significant experience developing and delivering marketing solutions.
  • Experience designing data flows to ingest, process and export data across multiple systems.
  • Expertise in designing data pipelines across various systems.
  • Experience delivering presentations and demonstrations to senior-level business and technical audiences.
  • Experience facilitating customer-focused workshops.
  • Understanding of enterprise sales process and methodologies.
  • Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, SDKs, and their applications.
  • Understanding of the architecture of cloud-based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure and application servers.
  • Knowledge of server-side web development design languages, scripting languages, and protocols such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, HTTP, CSS, XSLT, AJAX, JQuery.
  • Knowledge of MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server functionality.
  • This position is defined as a “remote employee“ (work from home office), with expected travel to clients and for internal team collaboration: 25% - 60% travel required for client engagements and team collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Relevant Salesforce Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud platform experience or equivalent Customer Data Platform and Marketing Stack(Custom CDP Solutions, SaaS CDP Solutions such as Tealium AudienceStream, Adobe AEP, Segment, Arm Treasure Data, BlueShift, SessionM, RedPoint, etc.) experience.
  • Familiarity with AI technology landscape and AI application to Marketing Technology use cases.
  • Data lake industry knowledge (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scalable computing resources via cloud environments like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Insight into cloud platform architecture, including SaaS, PaaS, and multi-tiered infrastructure.
  • Awareness of Data Governance and Privacy regulations.
  • Deep understanding of and passion for the digital marketing landscape, mobile marketing, digital/CRM/marketing experience.
  • Experience with digital advertising technology implementation technology and operations such as tracking pixels, tags, server-to- server integrations, mobile app SDKs, API integrations, tag management platforms, and analytic tools.
  • Experience configuring an end-to-end solutions.
