Elsewhere Entertainment seeks a Senior Expert Tools Programmer to build tools and pipelines empowering content creators. Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Expert Tools Programmer to join our team and help build the tools and pipelines that empower content creators to bring their visions to life. In this role, you will take ownership of the development of powerful, user-friendly tools and frameworks that streamline workflows and support our next-generation AAA experiences on our new IP. 

You will work closely with artists, designers, and other engineers to design and implement tools that enhance productivity and unlock creative potential. 
 
You’ll help us by 

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of complex tools, from initial design and prototyping to implementation and deployment. 

  • Identifying opportunities for pipeline improvement that enhance productivity across teams. 

  • Developing and maintaining our proprietary UI framework. 

  • Providing technical guidance to team members, fostering growth and collaboration. 

  • Writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code. 

 

You’re awesome because you have 

  • 10+ years as a professional programmer or a combination of education and relevant experience. 

  • Expert knowledge of C++ and development best practices. 

  • A solid knowledge of Python. 

  • A strong interest in game-specific tooling and pipelines, with hands-on experience developing tools for content creation. 

  • Deep knowledge of UI toolkits such as Qt, wxWidgets, WinForms, or similar frameworks, and the ability to build polished, intuitive interfaces. 

  • Experience with Procedural Generation pipelines. 

  • A solid understanding of design patterns used in games and tools/ 

  • The ability to thrive as part of a creative team, collaborating across disciplines to deliver impactful solutions. 

  • A resourceful and innovative approach to solving complex challenges, paired with a positive, respectful, and team-first attitude. 

  • Strong time management and organizational methods to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality results. 

  • Comfort with self-critique and openness to external feedback, using it to refine and improve your work. 

  • Strong English skills, both spoken and written, for effective collaboration and documentation. 

 

Bonus points for 

  • Knowledge of best practices in UI/UX for game tools. 

  • Knowledge of Python and experience in writing extensions/plugins for DCC tooling. 

  • Understanding of content pipelines and formats used in games (FBX, USD, etc).
