Senior Manager, Application Development

Job Description

Looking for seasoned and self-motivated Technical Manager for our Applications Development team with overall responsibility for the development, testing, releasing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of the web-based applications, Manufacturing Execution Systems for our global sites. The incumbent in the role of technical manager will be working independently and also cross functionally as the business need be. A high sense of responsibility to our customers, our business partners, our colleagues, and to the quality and timeliness of one’s own work; willingness to do what it takes to support our company’s systems sometimes during non-standard work hours. Ability to apply sound judgment and technical expertise in response to critical production issues for quick and effective resolution. Some travel is required for the purpose of on-site projects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Ability to liaise with the business and gather/understand requirements.
• Analyse the needs of large systems and break them down into smaller manageable parts and suggest the best framework and systems to be used
• Helping team to resolve technical issues
• Drive and implement process improvement items as the opportunity is presented
• Should be hands on experience in leading agile teams by working closely with global stakeholder in prioritizing features/epics.
• Manage all people aspects, from talent acquisition, motivation, mentoring and retention.
• Own the development, delivery and 24/7 support of the applications
• Liaise with the project management team to promote good work practices & continuous improvement
• Extensive experience in software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, and testing.
  
  

Education & Experience

• B.E./B. Tech or M.E./MTech in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering OR equivalent
• 15+ years of experience in Microsoft Technologies framework (MS.NET)
• 5+ experience managing a team of software developers and proven track record of managing software projects to on-time and on-budget delivery.
  
  

Technological skills and background in software development, including:

• Hands-On Experience with Microsoft .NET using C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Ajax
• Knowledge of software design (Patterns, OOAD)
• Experience with data persistency (SQL / NoSQL)
• Expertise of Sql Server
• Knowledge of web technology (HTML 5 / CSS3 / JavaScript / IIS / MVC)
• Experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems / CAMSTAR is an advantage

• Experience in leading, coaching, and motivating people
• Excellent communication skills
• Great initiative, proven ability to tackle projects with a can-do attitude
• Comfortable with working in a matrix environment
• Proven experience in operating within a global environment with cross cultural business stakeholders and teams
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum and DevOps

• The work mode of Finisar India is Hybrid i.e. 3 days at office.
