Job Description

The Operations Program Manager will be responsible for interfacing with key customers by managing the execution and completion of pre-production and production project tasks supporting the Datacom Business Unit. This role involves tracking deliverable progress, creating status reports, and supporting key account managers. The program manager will also coordinate with the NPI team to develop project plans and align internal teams with customer priorities. Responsibilities include risk management, escalating critical issues, and driving cross-functional activities related to manufacturing issues, production readiness audits, and customer complaints. The position provides first-level support for customer operations requests and requires professional communication within the project team.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience in program management
  • 2 years of experience in the same domain
  • B.S. in an engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing methods
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistics software
  • Ability to work with numerical analysis packages
  • Ability to read/write/speak English

Job Details

 The Operations Program Manager will be responsible for interfacing with key customers by managing the execution and completion of pre-production and production project tasks supporting the Datacom Business Unit at Coherent.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliverable Tracking and Reporting
  • Track the progress of all CSP-related (cloud service providers) initiatives and ensure timely delivery.
  • Create detailed status reports, dashboards, and updates for internal stakeholders and CSP customers.
  • Support KAMs (key account managers) during customer reviews by providing accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Project Planning and Management
  • Coordinating with the NPI team, develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and milestones for CSP deliverables.
  • Align internal teams (Product, Eng, Ops) with CSP priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Conduct regular sync meetings to review progress and address challenges.
  • Risk Management
  • Identify and monitor risks to project timelines
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership when necessary.
  • Other duties may include the following:
    • Program manager with responsibility for driving cross functional pre-production and production operations activities while interfacing directly with customers
    • Customer facing program manager coordinates all activities related to key external customer operations team.  Responds to customer requests, coordinates customer communications, and coordinate manufacturing change requests that require customer approval.
    • Drive internal cross functional activities that directly involve customers.  These activities include the resolution of manufacturing issues, pre-production correlations, customer production readiness audits, customer reports, and resolution of customer complaints during production.
    • Provides first-level support for external and internal customer operations requests.
    • Regular reporting on project status to internal management team
    • Host daily/weekly meetings as necessary with customer and/or internal management teams
    • Professional communication within the project team.
    • Coordinate communications between Sales, Operations, Quality, and Engineering
    • Review the Industrialization of approved changes.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • No direct supervisory responsibilities but must effectively lead cross-functional teams

Education & Experience

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline or an equivalent degree
  • Five+ years of experience working in program management including 2 years in same domain.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistics software
  • The ability to work with numerical analysis packages

Skills

  • Ability to read/write/speak English.
  • Ability to understand and perform to all specifications required to do the job.

Working Conditions

  • This position is onsite/hybrid
  • May require occasional off-site meeting or travel
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.

Safety Requirements

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently.  They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
